Hi Mr. Barry Coates, I have frigidaire ATF 6700FS front load washer. I am having problem with error code E41 and all time it shows me PAU. I tried all the solution on this site but nothing works. Could uyou please help me on that?

'power strip'!! You can't run a washing machine from a power strip! It pulls far to many amps. Plug into a wall socket on its own.

PAU Error. The PAU, or pause, error usually means that the washing machine cycle was interrupted and was not restarted properly. If you try to modify the cycle or start a new one before the first cycle is complete, the PAU error will appear on the display.

From my understanding your Frigidaire washer is displaying "PAU" and "E41". "PAU" normally displays when there is an interruption to the cycle and "E41" means the main control board thinks the door switch is open. PAU is short for pause; the machine detected something wrong so it paused itself. Unplug it from the wall for a minute and plug it back in, it may reset. Once you plug it back in, it should display a Numerical code. You need to find out what's that error code mean.

Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)

The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.

Here's how to check...

**Unplug the unit from the wall first...safety first**

Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.

The error code 45 means control board communications problem. And Pau shows when the cycle was interrupted, try disconnecting the unit form the wall outlet, wait for about 10 secs. and plug it back in. If this do not clear the error code. Replace Board.

An E-45 code is a control board issue & needs to be replaced

Its an issue with the front door sensor and the motherboard. I had to replace the mechanism since it could no longer work. Cost me 250 and almost 2 years later its happened again
