Our praise band keyboard has a key that won't return to the "up" position.

Sounds like what happens with mine -- the key weights broke. I have solved this by opening it up and stealing the weights from similar keys at the lowest or highest end of the keyboard. The keys pop off by messing with the back ends, and the weights just come right out. Not bad really. Opening the unit is just a matter of finding the right screws, there are 4 larger ones on the left and right undersides and 4 more small ones in the back. Intelligent hunting will find them. The blade on a band saw stays on the wheels because they are aligned in a way to keep it there. Several things can be wrong to make the alignment off enough that the blade won't stay on. Check the condition of the tire and that the wheel isn't bent. Then check that the bearings and lower drive shaft are not damaged. Another remote possibility is a bent frame that throws the alignment out of wack.

I am a little confused but for all keyboard settings in a windows environment go to the control panel and under keyboards all your settings are there. You can make the keyboard repeat faster. and the cursor blink faster and make it bigger etc. You will have to give more info if you are meaning something else

WHERE YOUR SHIFTER IS YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE IT APART ..MAYBE THE RUBBER BOOT IS IT THE WAY,OR THE SHIFT LOCK SELINOID WHENT BAD

If the bar is what i think it is, it hooks to the keyboard to help push the shift key back up. Easy way to check if that's the purpose of the bar? pop off your caps lock, or the other shift key and see if you have the same bar there. If so, just put it back the same way it is on the other shift key.

On the other hand, if the shift key on the other side of your keyboard doesn't have one of those little bars then with all likely hood the little bar is just a little bar of something that fell into your keyboard. No worries, you can throw it away.

If the key is physically stuck in the "down" or pressed postion, the key may have become disconnected from the mechanism underneath that returns it to the "up" position.

All keys on all keyboards can be removed. This includes laptops. On laptops, the keys typically have less travel (up and down) than a desktop keyboard and the key attaches to the keyboard differently.

In either case, use a small screwdriver or your fingernail and gently lift up on the key - to return it to the "up" position. When in that position, see if the rest of the keyboard works.

If it does, you can simply lift up on the key and remove it from the keyboard. The support that is underneath will either be removed with the key or will remain on the keyboard.

Re-attaching the key involves aligning the key with the ends of the support bracket and snapping it back into place. (Most keyboards have a white plastic structure that forms a X on 2 sides - allowing the key to move up and down.)

With the key removed, look at the edges of the surrounding keys to get an idea of how it attaches, align the parts and press it back into place.

The speaker will beep when a the Keyboard buffer is full. Many times this is due to a key that is stuck in the down position. With the computer off, run your fingers over all of the keys, and note that the keys "bounce" back up as you release the pressure from your fingers. Any key that is NOT returning to the "up" position is stuck in the down position. Examine that key for any foreign matter that could be wedged between the keys. You may be able to CAREFULLY pry the foreign matter from between the keys using a paper clip that has been opened to form a stiff wire. Also try pushing down on the surrounding keys at you attempt to remove the object. Once the object is removed, turn the keyboard upside down and shake. I think you'll be surprised at how much dirt and other "stuff" comes out from behind those keys. A small air compressor or can of compressed air will also accomplish this. Just be sure not to turn the can of air upside down or you will also expel the propellant from the can which can damage the keyboard and/or computer.

On another note, it is also a posibility that the membrane which holds the keys in the up position is broken which would require you to replace the keyboard itself.

Sure you can use the computer w/o a mouse. You can use the Alt key, Tab key, arrow keys, and the Enter key to move and make selections.

About the cordless mouse...I assume you have good batteries installed and in the proper position? Is this a new mouse? If you think it is bad, return it.

You can always buy a cheap USB mouse to get you going. Even though you can use a keyboard to navigate, it gets a little tedious after awhile.

You cleaned the rubber under the buttons and the buttons too? All you do is put the metal bars straight down then angle it about 10 degree towards you then put it in like a regular key, but if you lost the wire then.... might need to get a new one, heh.

2. Master reset (All memory clear)
There are two possible methods to perform a master reset.
· MRS-1
Used to clear all memory contents and return machine back to its
initial settings and return keyboard back to default keyboard layout.
Procedure
1) Unplug the AC cord from the wall outlet.
2) Set the MODE switch to the (SRV¢) position.
3) Plug in the AC cord to the wall outlet.
4) While holding down JOURNAL FEED key, turn to (SRV) position
from (SRV¢) position.
· MRS-2
Used to clear all memory and keyboard contents.
This reset returns all programming back to defaults. The keyboard
must be entered by hand.
This reset is used if an application needs different keyboard layout
other than that supplied by a normal MRS-1.
Procedure
1) Unplug the AC cord from the wall outlet.
2) Set the MODE switch to the (SRV¢) position.
3) Plug in the AC cord to the wall outlet.
4) While holding down JOURNAL FEED key and RECEIPT FEED
key, turn to (SRV) position from (SRV¢) position.
5) Key position assignment:
After the execution of MRS-2, only the RECEIPT FEED and
JOURNAL FEED keys can remain effective on key assignment.
Any key can be assigned on any key position on the main keyboard
