Your WII is having trouble reading disks? Try using a dvd/cd ROM cleaner disk. Run the cleaning disk in the WII a couple of times and try inserting your game again. If it still does not read the disk, try cleaning the game disk itself with a lint free cloth and alcohol. make sure to dry the disk completely and never wipe in a circle. If this does not solve the issue, try playing the disk in another WII to figure out if the problem is isolated to the disk itself. If the disk plays in another WII, then contact the manufacturer and send the console in for repair.

My wii will not read any of the disc

You can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. Also, some older Wii units have trouble with dual layer discs, which pack more info onto a disk (Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime use dual layer discs). If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit for that too.

If after cleaning its lens your Wii still can't read any disks then you'll want to contact Nintendo.

Disney d-style karaoke won't read disk or spin disk

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, the pladder motor is not working that spins the disk, and unfortuneately the only way to correct this is to replace the entire assembly which probably won't be cost effective.

When my daughter turns on her system it goes to a "Browser / System Configuration" screen and we don't know what to do?

Hello,

Is it stuck at this screen? If so, try shutting down the PS2, then remove the power cord for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and turn the system on.

Also, if the PS2 is having trouble reading the disk it will do this. You can try another disk because maybe the one you are using is scratched up. The system may have to much dust and dirt inside causing disk read problems. Try a can of compressed air and see if you can blow some of the dust out from inside the disk drive!

My wii says its unable to read disk on all games including new ones what can i do

Hi,

If the Wii is having trouble with a disk, it means there's either a problem with the disk or the Wii.Since that your Wii is having a problem reading al disk there's might be a problem with it. Some older Wii units also have trouble with dual layer discs, which pack more info onto a disk .If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. If still having an issue better call Nintendo for further Support. You might have a Bad lens on your Wii.

My wii fit plus disc reads cant be read when inserted in to the wii help please can it be fixed

Hi lyned1,

If the Wii is having trouble with a disk, it means there's either a problem with the disk or the Wii. If your Wii can't read any disks then you'll want to contact Nintendo. Otherwise you need to investigate your disk.

If you hold the bottom side of the disk to the light you should be able to see if there's a smudge or scratch. If it's a smudge, cleaning the disk will often fix the problem. Use the microfiber cloths used to clean eyeglasses or, short of that, a tissue. Just rub the smudged spot. (When using a tissue I generally steam up the spot with my breath first.) If the disk looks good, put it back into the Wii and see what happens.

A scratch is more problematic. If it's a game you just bought, try exchanging it where you bought it. Otherwise you can try polishing out the scratch.

Some older Wii units also have trouble with dual layer discs, If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. And also you can try to use a different disk to check if your system will be able to read it. then try the Wii Fit Plus If after all that, your Wii still can't read the disc, it's probably just a bad disc.

Thanks for using Fixya.

MY DVD-RE IS NOT READING ANY CD OR DVD..WHEN I M INSERTING ANY DISK IT KEEPS ON READING IT

Try using a Iris eye cleaning disk. Mosxt times when constant reading occurs or it says no disk it is the iris inside that has become occluded with dirt. Checkl that there are no finger marks on the disk and it is clean too

Once you have run the cleaning disk use a non scratched clean disk to check its load and read ability before trying in the disks that you had trouble with.

If they still give trouble then the problem will be with those disks and not the laser in the unit.
