Paslode 350s .The drive pin will not retract behind the next nail. I replaced all the orings and reassembled the way the pieces were (because of minor wear) With the air at 80 to 100 psi it should be sufficient to push the piston all the way back. But it always stops about a 1/4" short of that needed to get behind the next nail. There are no burrs and the oring and cylinder have enough oil for the piston to slide easily. What am I missing? Thanks Wayne Strutt [email protected]

Usually there are four things that affect the driver not reaching the top of cylinder. Piston oring too tight or too loose, exhaust air is restricted at top of gun , check valve oring is missing, or air leaking down thru blade seal. Assuming that the piston oring is ok and exhaust is not restricted, make sure that oring # 092235 is in place covering the small holes on the outer lower portion of the cylinder. this is the check valve that causes piston to come up. If, however, too much air leaks down past the blade seal, the driver will not make it to the top. Blade seal is a metal washer with slit just large enough to pass the driver blade. If worn, just make a washer out of tire tube and make a small cut with sharp blade just large enough to pass the driver blade. Make the washer larger than the metal washer and just place it on top of the metal washer. Put back together and nail away. Good luck

SOURCE: paslode im350 piston will not return

It sounds as if the piston o ring is worn. Does the piston drop if you just give it a slight bump with no nails in the magazine, if so that is the problem and would need replaced. Let me know otherwise and I will dig deeper

SOURCE: paslode t250 f16 leaks air from the cap difuser

The most common problem with this nailer is the plastic seal that sits on top of the cylinder. This seal (ususlly white, yellow or black in color ) will cause the nailer to leak lots of air out top of gun. Examine seal for cracks and replace as necessary; the part number is 402725 and is available at www.toolpartsdirect.com This should stop the rapid air leak. After installing the new seal, if you have a very small constant leak out top of the gun then remove the screw holding the headvalve in place and check for small scratches where the orings contact headvalve. Use very fine sandpaper (300 to 400 grit) to remove scratches. Clean and re-use the same orings using silicone grease instead of oil and re-assemble. This should stop all leaks. Silicone grease is available at Lowes lumber in the plumbing department. It is used to lube orings in faucets. If you have more questions about this gun please email, Good Luck

SOURCE: Paslode 5350/90S PM leaks air from the top

Yes it should and also check the condition of the cylinder seal and the bumper. If either is damaged it could also affect the tool. Let me know and you can also go to Paslode.com and download a breakdown and get a parts kit for this along with installation instructions.

How can I tell if the “trigger air control valve” is good or bad ... Paslode 350s

Easy to check trigger valve on Paslode 350s. Just connect air pressure to the gun and listen for air leaking from the valve. If still not sure if air is leaking from the valve, remove the trigger by removing retainer pin and spray soapy water on the valve. A very slight leak may not affect the trigger action. Most trouble for this gun is due to worn parts in the headvalve or lack of lubrication. If the gun does not fire correctly, try lubing the orings in the headvalve with white grease. If firing improves with grease, then orings or other headvalve parts are worn. Good luck

Drive pin does not retract

Easy to fix. Remove the head and pull out the cylinder. Look for black band around lower part of cylinder. This band (check band)should be placed around series of small holes. Replace if broken with any rubber that will hold up in oil or use a bunch of orings to fill space. Good luck.

The piston won`t retract in order to load the next nail.

Piston not retracting is caused by several issues including bent driver blade, piston oring too worn, or check band on the outer part of the cylinder broken / out of place. Easy to check. Remove the head and pull the driver. Examine driver for bend. If not bent insert driver into cylinder and check for worn oring. The driver/oring should fit snugly and driver should hold in position in the cylinder without sliding down the cylinder under its own weight. Examine the lower bumper for missing pieces or cracked. Replace as needed. If driver /oring and bumper are ok, pull out the cylinder and examine the check band. Black piece of rubber covering series of small holes. Should fig snugly on cylinder, replace as needed. Repair kit does not include the lower bumper or the checkband. Good luck with your repair.

Paslode framer when you depress trigger there no resistance and it does not fire

Paslode framer has a lever inside of trigger that may be bent or missing. Easy to check. Remove air line and nails. Remove trigger by pulling pin. Check under trigger for missing parts. Test gun by connecting to air and place nose of gun against wood or hard rubber and then depress firing pin. If gun fires then problem is with lever under trigger or safety mechanism which is in two parts. Check safety for bent or broken piece, usually upper part will be missing lip that actually pushes on the lever. If however gun does not fire when firing pin is depressed, time for replacing orings in gun. Parts are available at www.toolpartsdirect.com . Good luck with your repair and post again if you have other questions.

Paslode (30 degrees) framing gun firing pin not retracting

The tool needs to be completely torn down, cleaned out, two orings inside need replaced, re-lubed and re-assembled. takes a technician about 1 hour to do it right. I believe either the orings or dirt is your problem. If blade doesn't return its probably the orings.

Feeding nails

Your nailer shares design features with Milwaukee and Ridgid. All three brands experience the same issue. Lets go thru a series of simple tests to determine the problem. First and most simple test, manually load the nails and fire the gun untill miss-fire. Upon mis-fire disconnect air, open latch and check if the driver is all the way up into the cylinder or is partially down blocking next nail. If driver is down blocking next nail, replace the driver oring and retest. If driver is up all the way, remove nails, reconnect airline, leave latch open and fire gun against rubber (old tire or coiled up waterhose/airhose) this time holding the gun down and keeping the trigger depressed. In this position, the driver will remain down and feeder will remain retracted. With feeder retracted and screwdriver in hand carefully check the spring tension on the feeder (should be rather firm tension on spring and the feeder must retract with good force). If no tension or weak, replace feed spring. When you finally release the trigger, the driver will retract and the feeder should return with good force. If feeder does not return with force, replace orings and spring behind feed piston. If all tests are ok, remove head, check lower bumper in gun for cracks or missing pieces. Replace as necessary. Lube all orings with silicone lube available at Lowes in the plumbing department. (Danco brand) Good luck on your repair and email your questions.

Paslode 350s nail gun misfire

Check the small pin holes in the cylinder. If they become clogged the blade will not fully retract. Also check/change the O rings on the cylinder and flange.
