My asus eee pc 900 does not turn on.if i press the power button the power led goes green for a second and then shuts down again.after that if i press the power button nothing happens.i have to take out the battery and put it back in and the same thing happens again.that problem came when i first got the black screen.i disconected the CMOS battery and put the cable back in.after that i have this problem.

u can format with usb pendrive support..but how can u install OS?
to install any OS u need disc drive..

Must be common problem. Linux is the operating system

yes you just lost linux, it needs re-doing but with an external CD ROM drive unless it has a partition
for recovery in which either F10 key will do it or another key check the manual for RECOVERY of operating system its not a big problme but it takes few hours to solve

I had the same problem and from other forums I found that you have to remove the memory and short cmos . To short cmos I use screw driver to connect two copper pads.
