You can use the HP site to download the application which can access the web cam. Or you can use Camera and scanner wizard which is in Startmenu (in Win XP) you will get the camera working.
"My Computer" is the only way to access it. Not sure why they set it up that way, but they did. Right click it and create shortcut that you can drag to desktop. The camera also does not come with software. It uses windows native control for it. If you you were able to screw up the design of a 300.00 laptop.....they did it with that camera.
