I am getting continuous black smudge/lines appearing on all print outs that gets steadily worse as we print more copies in one run. I have changed the black image drum and it cleared the problem for about 10 copies of A4 then it started to get steadily worse again to the point where it was depositing a coating of black all over the transfer belt. I am awaiting a new transfer belt but I am confused as to why the new drum fixed it short term. This is driving me mad!.... please help

try to stop the sheet just before it enters the fuser and see if the marks are on the paper already. if not then it has to be the fuser if they are them you have another issue.

pull out the black cartridge then get a tissue paper try pressing the nozzle again the tissue paper but not so hard then release look for the straight line that appear on the tissue paper if it is not change it

My HP 4100 printer prints with a black smudge clear down the page. I clean the roller but continues to print bad copies. Should I replace the cartridge?

Problem is either the cartridge or the fuser.
Put paper in the manual feed tray(tray 1)
Print something. When the paper gets 1/2 way into the printer, open the
top cover. Pull out the toner, look down at the paper.
If it has the smudge replace the toner. If no smudge, replace the fuser.

When printing anything black, some lines appear very light in color and some are smudged. I have taken the print heads out, cleaned them, repositioned them, realigned them, but the problem persists.

Have you try HP Support & Drivers.

Hello sir;The streak line from printing also should be from copy, because the line come from imaging unit, check the meter count if close to or over 50,000 then replace drum and drum blade, it will take care the problem.
The brother printer you need to replace imaging unit( drum unit).

Black ink smudges for color print mode only, not for grayscale

- Try to reallign the cartridge, run a print test, after that if the issue still persist - uninstall and reinstall software - run test and re-allign again the cardtridge using software. run print test again.

Actually a Canon PC-65, problem follow-up

canon older model PC_6RE problem: the third copy and byond, streeks appear on the left side, progreesivly get worse on each additional copy, a wait of about 2,hours, then the 1st copy is clear again, any solution for this?
