SOURCE: colman furnace
look on your burner control relay - look for terminals marked T and TH. connect up a honeywell thermostat here.
SOURCE: wiring from thermostat to furnace
Typically you normally will have five wires controlling your furnace and airconditioning. R Y W G C. If you get some thermostat wire. Connect them like this---- red wire will go to R(this is your 24V to thermostat)----yellow wire will go Y(Y is your cooling)----white wire will go W(W is for heating)---green wire to G(green is your fan)---black can go to C(this is your common to supply 24Vto thermostat)
SOURCE: short cycling..continually..minimal heat
Is this furnace standing pilot or electronic? if standing pilot turn power off then take t-stat off wall and connect the wires labeled r and c together and see if that keeps furnace working. If electronic check flame sensor you can check flame sensor buy cleaning with steel wool. if that doesn't work then try t-sat.
SOURCE: Furnace not cycling properly.
you might want to check the filter, if the filter is restricting the airflow the furnace will over heat and it will shut down. if you turn it off and on it will reset it and it will try again. Pull the filter out half way and try that, if it runs fine then clean the filter or get a less restrictive one.
SOURCE: furnace dont respond to t-stat's command.
Maybe you don't have power going to the unit for the thermostat work. Most thermostat work off low voltages like 24 volts. May the transformer is bad.
