Where are the fuses located - Microwave Ovens

There are lots of models in the range, but it seems they all have a thermal fuse. See the link and the images tab.

Depending on the total part number 665xxxxxx a replaceable fuse is located behind the control panel usuallyon the floor of the control cabinet.

on one specific model "not yours" to check out the fuse locations a part number 309796 was found and I've included an image. Values of the fuses change based on specific models.

During previous repairs the fuse holder has failed and has required repair in addition to the fuse being replaced. This work needs to be accomplished by a qualified repair person. Even with power remove voltages remain because of stored engergy in the capacitors.

High voltage is located on transformer, low voltage above fan. You need to remove case.

The fuse is generally located very near where the main power wires. It is most likely located inside so the lid must be safely removed and the unit must be unplugged. The power wire will run directly to the fuse in a block. Replace with the same size and type.

Mike - Unplug the unit and unscrew about 4 screws on the top and then the side panel and the fuse will be in that location.

Note: If the fuse looks brown, it's definetly blown, you can get the same fuse at your local Radio Shack for about $0.97. hope this helps

Fuses can be located behind the microwave door or behind a panel either on the interior wall or an exterior panel. Often the fuse will be behind a panel located under the louver vents on top of the microwave

In general you can locate the internal fuse by opening up the microwave cabinet. To get to the fuse, remove the outer cabinet of the unit, which is usually held in place with a few screws. Once the outer cabinet is removed, follow the power cord into the unit. It will take you to the fuse holder, where the fuse sits. The fuse holder is located two or three inches into the unit, and may be attached to a power board.

Yes, is probably the fuse. I have fixed several microwaves with this problem and the fuse is almost always located just inside where the power cord enters the unit. Just remove the skin (usually screws on the back and BOTTOM also) test the fuse with a micro meter. If no contenuity, replace with same size, type and rated fuse. Most microwaves are 20amp fuse.

Almost all models have the fuse located under the control panel .Should come off with a couple of screws but careful with the ribbon. Hope this helps
