Se270d is not feeding the fabric through. The steel piece w/the feeder teeth keeps falling to an angle but when I lift it back up, it seems too high. Also, the bobbin cartridge jumps off track and causes the machine to jam once I try to sew. I am sure when one is fixed, the other will work itself out.

Sounds like something may be disconnected in your machine. May be best to take it for service.

SOURCE: The fabric doesn't move forward.

We need to do some examining. Remove the foot. Put the stitch length dial at the longest stitch. Turn the wheel and see if the feed dogs move about 1/4 inch. Also check to see that they rise just slightly above the needle plate. If it does these two things it will work. If the teeth don't rise above the plate, remove the needle plate and clean the lint out from between the rows of teeth. If you find a lot of tightly packed lint there this will solve your problem. Reinstall the needle plate and foot. If the feed dogs don't move about 1/4 inch, you probably have a problem which is going to require the services of a technician.

SOURCE: Bernette sewing machine making a mess of thread on back of fabric

I once heard from a great sewing instructor that if the problem is on the back of the fabric then it is a spool to needle problem.... if the problem is on the top of the fabric, then it is a bobbin problem. Check your machine for dust and stray threads. Check your bobbin casing for dust and stray threads.

SOURCE: while sewing on singer quantum

Mine did this and it seemed impossible to fix. My problem was a tiny bit of thread stuck in the bobbin cover (but it could be anywhere in the thread route). I ran dental floss through the path the thread follows and also in the bobbin cover and poof out came a small piece of thread that all my looking missed. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: my thread gets stuck down in the bobbin area.

Ensure that you are threaded correctly, set your tension for roughly 4.5 and "floss" your machine when threading by grabbing the thread by the needle immediately prior to threading the needle with your left hand, and the thread on the top by the spool with your right hand; then pull the thread back and forth briefly.
Ensure that your bobbin is in the bobbin case in the correct orientation.
Ensure that your feed dogs are in the "up" position. Many inexpensive machines do not have the option to drop the feed dogs, and I believe your kenmore to be one that lacks the option, but consult your manual just to be sure.
Also make sure you're using a good quality thread. Use a European thread, and definitely avoid anything from the dollar bin or any kind of "dual duty" type thread. Cheap thread causes nasty nasty things to happen to sewing machines.

If none of these fixes solves your problem, let me know; but going through the above will solve 99% of problems like you're describing.

Good luck,

-R

Singer sewing machine model 1425 feeder foot wont advance fabric

Not knowing this exact model or your history with this specific machine, I'll just toss out the following info.

If feeder dogs are not stepping, none of the following applies to your problem. Otherwise;

I believe the 1425 does not have dog up/down selection, therefor it uses stitch length zero (or about) to keep the feeder dogs below the needle plate when embroidery/darning.

Assuming feed dogs are stepping (rotary reciprocation), adjust stitch length toward a longer setting. Eventually this should raise the height of the feed dog step to a point above the needle plate thereby feeding the fabric.

So if choosing a longer stitch length feeds fabric, either the feed dog height needs adjusted, or something else has caused feed dogs to be lower than normal (additional repairs).

Hi there. I have a singer 507 machine which was sewing fine until I changed thread in bobbin and now the feeder teeth are not moving to feed thE fabric thru, not sure what I may have done - Help!

the bobbin has nothing to do with the feed teeth
however it is possible that at some point you moved the forward /reverse knob lever to middle where the teeth will not move

The little Teeth/feeder under the foot doesn't push the fabric out. The fabric doesn't move

check where the direction button/lever is
it controls the feed mechanism and if it is in the middle the teeth will just go up and down
set it one way and it moves forward and set the other way will go in reverse
it is graduated to provide a stitch length ( number of stitches per 1")

I have a Juki8700 it does not seem to be feeding the fabric thru on the feed dog

ck presser foot tension. even with sightest presser ft tension goods should feed. next ck that your feeder plate is not loose or broken. take off the plate and see if u can move the feeders with your finger. tighten screws makinf sure the needle is centered inthe feeder plate hole. if this is not the problen then youe=r feeder plate teeth are too low or worn out. look up how to raise the feeders. the should be 1/8" above plate.

Singer Sewing Machine model #2638 Does not feed fabric

Here is a link to page 22 of the manual. It shows you where to flip the lever to raise the feed dogs. If your feed dogs are not grabbing fabric your feed dogs are lowered.

I cant get the material feeder to come up so that the material can slide

Make sure feed dogs (teeth in needle plate beneath needle) are showing. Flip switch to UP position to "feed" fabric. Sometimes control fir this located on back of machine lower left side and " hidden" by your extension table, so remove that table and you'll find the switch! Jimmy

I have an Emerald 116 Husqvarna/Viking sewing machine and the feeder teeth have simply stopped feeding. It worked fine the last time I used it a couple of months ago and it hasn't been moved or disturbed...

HOW TO FIX YOUR FEEDER TEETH (DOG TEETH) ON EMERALD 116/118/120 IF THEY STOP WORKING....

So this is just a temporary solution to this problem... after reading through the user's guide (which really needs to be updated to have more troubleshooting suggestions), and basically taking apart various parts of the machine, I found a temporary solution.

1. Unscrew the Face Place (where the needle is attached to. #9 in User Guide Overview) There is only one screw on the side right underneath the Pressure Foot Pressure Dial (#8 in User Guide Overview). Taking off the Face Place gives you room to use a screwdriver for step 2...

2. Unscrew the Needle Plate (#12 in User Guide Overview), and take out the Bobbin holder (black). Slide the lever for the Feed Teeth to the raised position, and with your forefinger pop up the Feed Teeth (underneath the needle) to the raised position. You will here a click... and you are set to go. Reassembly your machine and get back to sewing!

Singer zig-zag 437

loosen the screw on the larger of the two feed gears (not bevel gears). Retigten so that the feed teeth start to rise right when the needle starts to rise and fall right when the needle starts to go into the fabric. Make the setting the same. i.e. when the feed teeth start to rise, how high is the needle (2mm, 3mm, etc.)? set the feed timing so the teeth rise and fall with the needle at the same height going in and coming out, this assures that the fabric only feeds when the needle is out of the fabric.
