The computer couldnot read the outer hard why he told me to insert the hard and i alreay insrted him then the computer read him and suddenly stops working and told me again check that you insert the h

If you are talking about an external hard drive or external usb device that you put into one of the usb ports it might be bad. You could try a different usb port. Also try using it on another computer.

If it does not work on a different usb port or another computer then it's definitely bad.

My acer aspire one displays a white screen but with the external monitor it works perfectly fine.

Good job on the initial troubleshooting, heheh first thing I would have done is test an external.
This is going to be a bad screen most definitely.
You can buy OEM parts generally from Acer, but they will be 3 to 8 times as expensive as the parts on ebay.
Search " screen" and you should find parts for fairly cheap. The replacement can be a bit tricky though. Probably one of the hardest parts to replace I'd give it a 8 out of 10 for difficulty. If you can buy the entire lid (screen and plastic casing) and replace the whole top that easily drops the difficulty to maybe a 3 out of 10.

I have IBM eServer with ServeRaid-7K on board controller and have 3 SCSI 73GB hard drives configured in RAID-5 array. Hard Drives are running critically low on space and I bought 3 300GB scsi Ultra320 hard...

First, buy an external storage device, at least 80GB (although it's currently difficult to find any _smaller_ size!) and make a file-by-file, folder-by-folder, backup of your 73GB of "data".

Second, buy another external storage device, and do a Google-search for "drive image freeware".
Pick one of those applications, and do a "image" backup to this second external storage device.

Third, disconnect the 3 "old" drives, carefully label them, and set them aside.

Fourth, connect the 3 "new" drives, delete the old RAID-5 array definition,
and create a new RAID-5 array definition.

Fifth, do an "image restore" from the second external storage device to the new array.

If you have any problems, all you need to do to "back-out" is to:
* disconnect the "new" drives
* reconnect the "old" drives
* delete the "new" array definition
* redefine the "old" array definition

and you're back to the "old" configuration.

My Dell Latitude D520 has a black LCD screen. An attached external monitor works fine, so there is nothing wrong with the actual processor. I sthere anything I can do to fix the screen?

Definitely there is nothing wrong with your with your computer but the LCD components only. If your computer still under warranty, I suggest you contact Dell Technical Support so you don't need to spend. However, if you are not sure go to http://support.dell .com ad provide your service tag which you can find underneath/bottom of your notebook. Please post your comment if the information provided has been helpful that could help move to the next rank and further improve my support assistance. Thank you and regards.

Why does my I-mac not recognise both internal and external speakers in the sound preferences, so that I can switch between the two without having to unplug the external speakers from the headphone output.

There is an internal switch inside the actual 3.5 mm headphone/speaker jack. When you have either headphones or speakers plugged in, it automatically switches to external. FYI: Macs are also notorious for getting 'stuck' in this mode (external) and I've had to walk numerous people through the steps to correct this. My Macs are definitely not excluded :) I hope this helps.

I have an Evo laptop and the hadr drive died. HDD2181. Can you use an external drive without the internal drive? Or where would be the best place to get a harddrive?

You are able to use an external hard drive as your main drive but you will need to boot it at startup. If you need more help then just ask

Thanks

Attach your external HD with some other computer, that will definitely appear normal, the problem is due to a virus in ur HD. Your computer's antivirus software stops it to appear. Back up your data on the other computer, format ur external HD, remove un-necessary files and run a virus scan to the files u copied from HD, Hope this will solve the problem, if not, let me know and tell me what would be the response on the other compuer

Usb external harddrive

you have to right click on "my computer", select "manager".. there you can find and select "disk management"
in disk management you can find every drive connected to your pc.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457110.f12zs01_big(l=en-us).jpg

there you will also see your external drive, and you can start to identify the problem (maybe problem with drive letter allocation, filesystem type..). start by rightclicking in the row of your disk to use the contextual menu.
i know it's just a starting point.. but you definitely a need little more troubleshooting.
