Lp2844 wont print, just added a new roll and continusly feeds through without stopping till i disconnect the power?

Define your label size correctly. Measure your LABEL exactly, do not include the backing paper or the gap. Calibrate the printer. HOW?
Power off printer. Press and hold the green feed button down and power printer on. Count one, two and release green button. The printer will calibrate and move labels and then print some stuff on the label. Wait until it has comletely stopped. wait another few seconds and the press the feed key once. The printer will print "out of dump". You should now be ready to print again.

Power off your printer and disconnect it from the PC.

Allowe about 2 minutes for it to clear its buffer and then power it back on without connecting it to the PC.

If the problem still exists,

It may be a faulty paper sensor on the printer

Autosence your printer by turning it off and then hold down the feed button while turning it on and release feed button when light flashes red.

your drive rolls may be to tight or the spool isnt and the holder all the way

Silly question perhaps, but are you sure the paper roll is loaded the right way round? The printer needs to be able to detect the markings on the underside of the backing paper. There'll be a little clear plastic pane somewhere for this purpose - check it's clean. Sorry I can't be more specific - it's been a while since I've worked on one of these.

Added ''3 of 9' font to C:/Windows/Fonts.
Opened Word document, selected 3 of 9 as Font and typed a word.

Went back to printer and it printer the accession number and barcode.

Sounds like you might be using a bad driver, or the printer is in dump mode.
Try hitting the green button and see if it says exiting dump.
If still having trouble, inside the printer it tells you that if you are having printing trouble:

1. turn off the printer
   
2. Hold down the feed button
   
3. turn on the printer and at the third red flash release the feed button
   
4. it will then feed some pagessome info and ask you to hit feed again to exit dump
   
5. hit feed again and it will say exiting dump
   

This process re-reads the label length (so only do it with the labels you want to use in, or it will waste labels until you do it again with those in it) - but I'm suggesting it only because it enters and exits dump mode (which I have read can cause the garbage when you try to print).

Clean the roller that feeds the paper (located at the right side inside the feeding tray).
I did it ,with a cotton pad: first impregnated with water an soap, then only with water to clean the soap and then with a dry pad. I did making the roll to roll printing a page without paper in the try and continuosly presing the cancel/resume button.

your label length is set incorrectly, there are 2 things it could be
1) your software is telling the printer the label length is longer then the current labels, even if the label size is out my a single millimeter the printer will give you this issue of feed an extra label. you need to change this in your software. you can set a label size smaller then the current label size and it will work correctly

2) you software is not setting a label length and so the printer is going off its internal setting, to recalibrate hold feed and power up the printer letting go after the light starts flashing

it is important to note that label roll will change slightly over time so even though you are ordering the same labels as a year ago the manufacturer will have slight changes from batch to batch
