Clean or change air filter. Clean, gap or change spark plug. Empty gas tank add fresh gas with Stabil. When spark plug is removed pull rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray starter fluid in spark plug hole before replacing spark plug. Clean outside of carb so choke works freely. Spray starter fluid into carb breather hole with air filter removed and try to start. if running replace air filter and cover. If no start disassemble carb and clean. If no start replace carb.

Cub Cadet has gas, has spark, has air -still won't start/run

Are you pulling the plug to check for wetness after cranking it a few times, WITHOUT using the starting fluid? Also, I would recommend using carb cleaner in place of the starting fluid. Starting fluid runs the engine VERY hot for a brief time and can possibly damage rings, valves, and aluminum parts.

Clogged fuel filter

take the line of the carby and check the fuel flow first
indicates that the carby is not filling ( jammed needle and seat) or the main jet is blocked

I have a Troy bilt snow thrower 2 stage-storm 2410. Bought it new last year, used it twice. It won"t start even after adding new gas and changing the spark plug. It doesn"t start, engine...

Hello,

You need to remove the carburetor float bowl and clean it. The needle and seat also need to be cleaned. The best thing is to totaly remove the carb. and soak it in a commercial/professional strength cleaner.

Your problem is fuel related, but just to make sure, remove the spark plug and spray some carburetor cleaner in the hole, replace the plug and give it a pull. If it fires up then quits..... The fuel system is to blame.

Hope this helps, Matt

! have a Troy built mower with a Honda engine, it quit running and will not start. I changed the spark plug, it ran for about one hour. Now the mower will not start.

Hello. If the gas has been sitting all winter, remove it with a siphoning bulb and put in brand new gas, not even gas that you have been storing all winter. Also, change your air filter. Finally get a can of starter fluid and a helper. While one person squirts a bit of starter fluid into the air intake [near the air filter] the other person starts it and use more squirts of starter fluid to keep it running. Joe
