You will loose all data you have put on the computer. When you turn it on right at the beginning there is a black screen and there are a few f key options.
They will flash up with the option when you turned it on, before windows kicks in. Take a look at the user manual to find out for sure.
Press the correct f key before windows starts up, then go through the menus in setup (it will look all crappy and dos like) and find restore factory settings (or something like that) and click yes.
It's a great feature, and will completely kill any virus or **** problems you have had and couldn't get rid of.
Hope this helps. I would appreciate your feed back as I do this for fun not pay.

Unlike other laptops, Acer Aspire laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer Aspire laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

If you faced any other issue with your Acer laptop/desktop/Notebook, feel free to get expert technical assistance at

I WOULD LIKE TO RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS TY - 0-nshdryve-1-s-.png

2. Click on the icon Acer eRecovery Management in the Acer bar displaying on your desktop.

3. Then the Main window : Acer eRecovery Management appears.

Note: During the launching, Acer eRecovery Management will ask you to create a password for your saving files. Just follow the instructions to continue.

Copy the Acer factory default backup disk Image
You can create a complete backup image of the current system configuration including applications, drivers and data. Create a full backup before installing new hardware or software applications to protect your data and your system.

Note
: Create a full backup will erase the backup file previously saved on the hard disk. By default, the utility saves the backup image on the second partition on the hard disk. If space is insufficient, the option is dimmed and a warning appears. Save the image on the hard disk provides a simple system restore, without the need of optical discs.

Create a complete backup -Click on the Backup button below in the window, then click create.

-Select full backup then click next.

- Choose a description in the backup image then click next.

- Then a window will appear to close all applications and select Yes, then click on next.

- The backup process is starting.

- A message will appear when the backup process will finish or if fails.

Creating an incremental backup Instead of a full system backup, you can create an incremental backup image of the current system configuration to save space. Regular incremental backups are recommended to protect your system and your data, especially before installing new hardware or new software. You can create multiple backup incremental one above the other. Click on the backup button at the bottom then click create.

- Select Incremental Backup (fast), then click next.

- Then follow the other steps like in the other section.

Erase a backup point You can erase a backup image which was created to free up spaces on the hard drive. A message will appear for confirming when you select this option. Click on Yes to erase the backup image. Copy the burn disk option into the disks which will let you copy the images of the restore factory backup setting, the backup images, the system configuration backup or the applications to a CD/DVD.
Using the option "Burn Disk''

  • - Click on the button Burn Disk.

Burn a backup disc with the factory default settings This utility created a backup disk containing the factory default settings. Select this option if you have disabled the copy of the image of the factory default settings when you first launch Acer eRecovery Management.
Burn a backup disc with the parameters of user This utility copies the backup image of the user on a disc optique.Vous can restore the system to the desired backup using this disk.
Copy the current system configuration to disc This utility copies the current system on the optical disc. This option creates a temporary backup with the current system without replacing the previous full backup.
Burn a disc backup software This utility backs up all the applications and drivers on the optical disc.
Restore the system Restore function allows you to restore the system using images of factory default settings, images of backups, backups of system and applications current copied on CDs / DVDs.
  • - Click the Restore button.

Restore system to factory default settings Select this option to restore the computer to its original state. All previously installed programs and data stored will be lost. When this option is selected, the computer will restart and restore the system from the image on the hidden partition on the disc.
Restore system from backup user Allows you to restore the system using the backup image is more recent. When this option is selected, the information in the backup image will appear below the option.
Recover the system from CD / DVD This option allows you to restore the system using the backup image on the optical disc. When this option is selected, the computer restarts from the optical disc. The utility asks you to insert the backup drive if it is not already in the drive.
Re-install applications / drivers This option allows you to reinstall a damaged application or device driver. Acer eRecovery Management extracts the data from the hard disk partition hidden. This may take a few minutes and can disable the keyboard and mouse to ensure system stability.
Other means of System Restore If the system can not boot, you can restore it from the WinPE environment. The system starts from the hidden partition on the hard drive. To begin the restoration, press Alt + F10 (PC Tower) or F10 (laptop) to boot the PC and when the ACER logo appears. This will start the system from the hidden partition the hard drive and you access its main page. The restoration will be on partition C:. The partition D: (ACERDATA) will not be formatted, and therefore documents will not be deleted but it is always prudent to think about making a backup of your most important documents in case!
Note: You will be asked to enter the password before the System Restore starts. If you enter the wrong password three times, the computer will restart into the operating system.

You must enter the password to access the main page of the hidden partition. The main page of the hidden partition provides three options to restore the system:
  • 1 - Restore the system to factory default settings: Select this option and then enter the password. The utility will restore the system from the image of the factory default settings on the hidden partition on the hard drive. When prompted, confirm the system restore. A message will warn you that you will lose all data on the disc. The utility then restores the system to its original state.
  • 2 - Restore the system from backup user: Select this option and then enter the password. The utility restores the system from the image of the user on the second partition on the hard disk. When prompted, confirm the system restore. A message will warn you that you will lose all data on the partition. The utility then restores the system to safeguard user the most recent.
  • 3 - Restore the system from the CD / DVD: When this option is selected, insert the first disc of the backup in the optical drive. Confirm System Restore when prompted. A message will warn you that you will lose all data on the partition. The utility will restore the system from the backup image on CD / DVD. Insert the other disks when prompted.

Note: If you are trying to restore the system to its factory default settings stored on CDs / DVDs, Acer eRecovery Management prompts you to insert disc 2 to start.
No Restore CD / eRecovery / password / ALT + F10 or F10
  • 1 - Recovery of data on the hidden partition PQSERVICE for password
    • A - Installing the software R-Drive Image to create an image of this partition (this file has the extension. ARC)
    • B - Always with this software, create a virtual disk logic to see the files
    • C - From the desktop, go to the newly created virtual disk and find the file aimdrs.dat. The open with the notepad and get the password.
  • 2 - Reactivating the ALT + F10
    • A - Always on the virtual disk created, find 2 files: mbrwrwin.exe and rtmbr.bin.
    • B - Copy these 2 files on drive C: \
    • C - Since the MS-DOS (Pocket PC) to C: \, type the following command: mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin
    • D - The function has been reactivated.
  • 3 - Start of Restoration
    • A - At the start of the PC, go to the set-up to check if the function is well on D2D enabled (normally it is a default setting ... but hey you never know.)
    • B - Once the audit and that the PC has restarted once the ACER logo appears, simultaneously press ALT + F10 to start the restore utility.
    • C - When it asks for the password, you need to type one found in the file aimdrs.dat. CAUTION: The keyboard is QWERTY mode so we thought enter his password, but as some letters are reversed, it does not work.
  • 4 - Normally at this stage there ... everything works and restoration is smooth.
    • Note: If the operating system does not work, it is possible to do this from another PC by connecting the hard drive or USB slave

SOURCE: Hi I need to restore my comp bk to factory .But I

You should be able to obtain your recovery disks form Acer. Also your computer might have a recovery partition. you can find this out by going to my computer and see if you have two hard drives one labeled the C:\ drive and the other the D:\ drive. If so look around in the start menu for Recovery or look for something like hit F10 for recover when your computer is tuning on :) I hope this helps :)

I hit a buttn and the screen view flipped sideways. now i cant flip it back

If you do not know what you have pressed..probably was something related with the video driver ..
My advice is to enter in BIOS settings by pressing F2 on start and choose the optimal factory defaults in there and save with F10 to confirm ..This will make sure that it is not a BIOs setting that affects it ..
after that ..either reinstall the video driver again (remove the actual one from control panel add remove software ..or from device manager ..) or ..just make a roll back of the system settings using the system restore..and choosing a previous date ..when you know for sure that it worked fine..

Forgot password to acess< and or its still default setting. could you tell me what the wireless 700 routers default password is

Restore Factory Default Settings When you restore factory default settings to the base station, you clear your Internet connection settings and any special base station configurations that you have established. After the restore is complete, you will need to reconfigure your base station settings or restore these settings from a backup file. You should restore the original factory default settings only under the following circumstances: O You are experiencing serious problems with your base station, and resetting the base station does not fix the problem. O You cannot remember your base station password. In this situation, you must restore the factory default settings by using the Restore button on the base station, and then use the default password admin to log on to the Base Station Management Tool. To restore factory default settings 1. Open the Base Station Management Tool, and then click Management. 2. On the Management menu, click Back Up and Restore Settings. 3. Under Restore factory default settings, click Restore Factory Default Settings. While the original factory default settings are being restored to the base station, the Power light on the base station turns orange. When the light is solid green, the settings have been restored. If you want to open the Base Station Management Tool after the settings have been restored, type admin as the password on the Logon page. Do not attempt to log on to the base station until the settings are restored and the Power light on the base station is solid green. After you restore the factory default settings to the base station, you should navigate to each page of the Base Station Management Tool and reestablish the network settings you want, or restore the base station settings by using a backup file. For information about creating a backup file of your settings, see the following section. Be sure to establish your unique base station password as soon as possible after restoring the factory default settings to prevent unauthorized users from logging on. For more information, see “Change the Base Station Password.” please rate this answer, thanks

Ibm restore to factory setting

You have not explained what is wrong with your computer.
Is the laptop working, does it boot up into Windows?
What are you trying to restore?
Are you trying to get into a previous Restore Point?
The Access button takes you into the BIOS, you can change the BIOS settings back to the Default settings (ie the factory default settings).
It is difficult to offer a solution without knowing the exact nature of the problem.
