Phone won't ring for calls It goes off fine for texts and missed calls, but when someone calls, no sound whatsoever. Even if the caller ID readout is turned on ... nothing. Yes, the volume is up the way, and I've been through the settings three times, looking for a fix. Someone help?

Talking Caller ID Handset / Base unit This feature lets you know who is calling without looking at the display. To use this feature, you must: - subscribe to a Caller ID service of your phone service provider. - turn this feature on . When caller information is received, the handsets and/or base unit announce the caller's name or phone number received from your phone service provider following every ring.

If its a case where you can receive calls and texts, and send texts no prob but you cant call out then its a caller-id problem with your mobile service provider. Ring up the support team and have them reset your caller-id on their end. Once done, power cycle the phone and the phone shoild call outbound no problem.

Check that you have not muted the sound on your mobile by going into your phones menu then settings then sounds. Check that mute is not on. Also there could be a fault on the network but it is more than likely you have 'muted' the incoming calling signal. If you can change it per caller, check under your contacts that there is no restrictions there.

Open the caller ID screen and scroll through the recent calls. Hope this helps =]

Caller ID information is sent after the first full ring. If the call is answered too soon, the caller ID information may not have been sent yet. Some of the many and varied networks do not send caller ID information. In this case you may notice that caller ID is missing only on calls from certain callers. Occasionally bad data is sent, causing your phone to reject it.

Which phone are you using ? Check your applications if your have installed any software like Voice/Talking Caller Id or something similar . This software will be the reason the Caller id is a voice and not a ring-tone. Even check the settings in ring-tone if you and option to switch off Voice Caller id. Either uninstall the software or disable the software from the options within.

ive got the same bloody problem... the caller id wont show when someone rings me... how do i get this to work ?

I will try to help you with your problem even though you have not identified your make and model phone and you are in the wrong category. I will try to help you by telling you what I would do with my phone to change this setting. The procedure for changing your phone is probably different ... but perhaps you will get some insight from my remarks.

This is for calls and messages - My phone is a **** style LG. On the left side there are two buttons. I press the bottom one to get a menu list. Next I press the Right Soft Key called 'settings'. Next I select item number 6 called "call alert" I press OK. My three options are ( ) ring only or ( ) Caller ID and Ring ( ) Name Repeat.

I use (>) caller ID + ring and I hear the number or the name of the caller if in my phone book then the ring I have selected for that caller or texter.

Specific for messages ... I select Settings & Tools then I select Sound Settings then I select Alert Sounds then I select Test Messages and then I make my setting.

I hope this assists you with your settings even though I feel you probably dont have the same phone as I.
