My Juki TL-98Q won't turn on. No hummm, nothing. I've checked all connections and they are fine. Cords are in good shape. It was running beautifully prior to this.

If the light is on but no noise at all when you press on the control it must be a break in the lead at the very least or the brushes on the motor at the worst

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Juki.

Try the adjustment on page 15 of the manual. It will stop if the bobbin in unevenly loaded.

Sewing machine won't run.

1. Make sure the machine isn't set for bobbin rewind. Also, try to move the control hookup around slightly to ensure it is making a good connection.
2. Is it possible the power switch looks like it is on but isn't because of the surrounding light? Check this and the outlet you are using.
3. Is the sewing machine light on? A puppy biting in the wire could have caused a short so a pro will have to check the guts of the machine.

I was sewing this afternoon, it was fine. This evening I tried to turn on my machine, but it wouldn't turn on. It's three years old, made in Japan/

First, the obvious-make sure the machine is plugged in well, and you don't have a tripped circuit breaker. Then, check where the cord plugs into the machine. Check the cord for breaks. If you have a stitch regulator, be certain to turn it on before trying to turn on the machine. Recheck all connections. Check all the connections on the sensor wheels of the regulator-poor contact will break the signal between the regulator and the machine. If it still won't turn on, maybe the Quilting Fairie is telling you to leave it alone for a day or so, and go back to it. Good luck! :)

My tension disc keeps changing on me as I stitch (on my little Gracie frame) and then my stitches start getting loopy. I re-threaded and chnged the needle after one broke.

Your machine needs a trip to a repair person-sounds like a defective or loosened part. Also, contact Juki about this problem. I've had various problems with my Juki, but never this.

Juki TL98Q long arm quilting machine: can sew perfectly then all of a sudden a series stitiches are skipped. Why?

Using a long carpenter's level, level up your frame. Low areas in the frame can cause skipped stitches. Also, check the wheel sensor wheels-are they making good connection? These can lose connection when you quilt in certain directions.

Machine sews fine when it is set up on a table, but when it is on the Gracie II quilting frame and operated by their stitch regulator, the stitch quality is very bad. It varies from fair to very bad - I...

Use a carpenter's level to level up your frame, and be sure to keep the quilt leveled up to barely above the throat plate on the machine, and level front to back. Check the connections on the regulator sensors. If even one is not making good connection, you'll have skipped or broken stitches.

Thread breaks when free motion quilting...what tension should I be at?

Firsrt, try going slower, especially on curves. The Juki is so danged fast, it's easy to run faster than the thread can handle. As far as tension, the best approach is to experiment with a scrap quilt "sandwich" until you find the best tension settings. Also, could your problem be with the thread you're using? Different threads call for tension adjustments. Try using a bigger needle-smaller needles can "cut" the thread, as can defective needles, especialy on curves with free motion. Tension issues are, without a doubt, the biggest problem I've had, but patience and experimentation will usually solve whatever is going on.
