What's your problem? After having had "wrong cartrigde"warning , I replaced the printer head by a new one (canon). Now the printer is working normally but there is no ink, and all the pages are white in any modes : Page test, report of fax, photo impression , copy mode, etc We can hear the typical noise when the machine is printing, but no trace of ink!

SOURCE: canon mf5750 prints blank pages

Can anyone tell me where the formatter is located?
Is it part of the mainboard of the mf5750?
I read somewhere, that the formatter is responsible, if standard printing works (status reports etc), but normal printing tasks do not.
Really no solution guys? I cannot believe this.
Thanks for any advice.
Joe

Welcome to Fixya

Look like the printer is not detecting the cartrigde. Remove the color cartridge that's blinking, rub a pencil eraser across the four gold contacts to clean them, then reinsert. Try to use a quality eraser such as magic rub.

Thank you for using Fixya!

We have Epson ink jet printer. It worked fine when we got it last month but now the pictures are really awful - the colors are blurring and running together and there are recurring horizontal streaks...

Maybe the ink cartrigde is running out. Get sure that the cartrigde has enough ink, if it has not then reload it. If it has enough ink, then review that the printhead be clean, (you could clean it by using Isopropyl alcohol), then you can use the tools included in printer software to align or maintain cartrigdes. If this does not fix the problem, then replace the cartrigde.

RECOGNITION OF GENUINE CANON INK CARTRIDGE

I posted the original problem. Although the cartridge was genuine I had taken it out and reinserted it as I wasn't sure I had loaded it correctly the first time. Advice from my local retailer was that this was a mistake. Canon PIXMA printers no longer recognise a cartridge once it has been removed. Solution was another new cartridge which I shan't remove until it's empty. When this second cartidge is empty I shall try the first cartridge again as it is still full and unused. It has yet to print anything! Why Canon's helpdesk couldn't help is a mystery. I conclude that Canon's printer management systems are unfriendly to users. They are friendly only to Canon. I hope my experience will help others especially those considering buying a Canon printer. dudbob
