My Jenn-air micro/convection oven runs, but there's no heat. I don't know how to use it as its all new to me.

I have seen where one of the door switches becomes intermittent causing the symptoms you are describing, tough to nail down considering there are more than one door switches.

On the convection setting it's just a regular fan oven, so you can safely use metal.

I have a Panasonic Convection Micro. Yes, If you are using convection you can use metal pans. Microwave energy cannot pass through metal pans so that is why it is not good to cook in them. It could also cause arcing or reflect the microwave energy bak to the mag and over heat it. So, when possible use corning ware or Pyrex when using the microwave

If this is a problem of the control panel being locked, the instructions are posted on page 9 of the owner's manual. Press STOP/CLEAR, followed by pressing and holding the ENTER/START button for 3 seconds. The lock should clear.

have a good look at front to see reset??.press it once it comes back on unplug from the wall and & open it up and go to the part and give it a good clean with wd40, check the push pad for ware & tare dirt gathers and builds up
