How do i find the sirius id on the panasonic cq-hr1003u?

    I have a subscription.There's an antenna and the unit is connected to another box. I assume this is the sirius unit. I bought my car used and this was already in it. When I switch the unit to sirius mode it reads "SR-NON".

The radio does not have a Sirius ID - it is not built in. THe CQ-HR1003u is Sirius READY - meaning... The CQ-HR1003U can control an optional Sirius Satellite Radio tuner by Panasonic (item #133SRT100).

In addition to the Sirius tuner, you will need an antenna and subscription in order to receive Sirius Satellite Radio programming.

    There is an insert with the original purchase of the radio. SR NON means there is no signal detected from the Receiver. This can be because of a disconnected cable, hardware failure, or no power. Check that the box is getting 12VDC and is properly grounded.

Verify if the radio is "Satellite ready" or if it comes with the remote tuner unit. I believe you have to buy a separate tuner add-on and antenna in order to activate the satellite circuitry - THEN it will show you a radio ID. I think ONLY the Alpine comes with the tuner. I would call Crutchfield and they can tell you what all you need with that tuner to make it work with the satellite radio.

The laser beam at the tracking head may have been disrupted. That means the CD's are just fine, only the read head will not function. Unfortunately, the cost to repair is more than an replacement. Get a cheap $20-30 portable CD/DVD player at Walmart.

Looking at the user manual on page 13, you have to purchase and connect the XMD1000 module to in order to get the satellite radio service. If the module is installed, you'll get a display telling you to sign up for service.

You will need to get the XM add-on that Panasonic makes in order to get the functionality I think you are trying to get. With an external radio, you could hook it into an Aux to get sound, but you would not have the options to change channels from the Panasonic. In order to do that, you will have to buy their add-on. I have a separate Sirius Radio, and I prefer it that way because the display is so much easier to read.
