I do get other channels but they not coming in clear-I do get other channels clearly. When I called comcast (my cable provider) I was told I needed to get a code to allow my set to receive the other channels.

The TV may not have the programming to be set all the channels, what you need is a channel converter for TV, you will connect the CoAX cable (from the cable provider) onto the converter and then the converter will be connected to your TV will have all the channel for you. You will use two remotes though one for the TV and one for the converter.

you can check this out http://www.sz-wholesale.com/Search-Result/TV-CHANNEL-CONVERTER/

Just for reference

You will use two remote if the old TV set you have has a remote control.

    Hope this helps

Try to see if it has the ability to go to UHF, sounds like it's stuck on VHF. There may be a switch on the unit somewhere. It may be written as an AIR/CABLE switch instead of VHF/UHF.

Its problem of Tuner, old tuners didn't have ability of Hyper band frequency so it receives less channels on cable. Ask local tv repairman to replace its tuner with new Hyper Band tuner.

Tv setup - cannot get past auto channel

Connect the TV to the Comcast box using an HDMI cable, then set input on the TV to HDMI - that's all. You then select channels on the Comcast box , not the TV (although the TV remote can be programmed to change channels on the cable box)>

I just bought this 32' TV, and it is not picking up any channels at all. I don't have anything connected to it, simply the cable to the wall. I've tried to Auto-Program to no use. What should I do?

Do you have a Cable Provider such as Comcast, Charter? If you do, did you did you put the cable on the Ant. connector? Put it on the Antenna connector, then select ant/cable from the on screen menu. You should get video and channels.

If you don't have a cable provider, there is an antenna that will pick up many channels solded at Best Buys.

When you are using a FullHD upscaling model. I still have to a HD setbox

the set top box is required by your cable company.

if you plug cable directly into the TV and run an auto program from the TV menu it will find most channels. BUT it will not locate them correctly.

for instance I have comcast. Channel 58 is FX but WITHOUT a cable box it shows up as the following on my HDtv's

sharp 52" shows up as channel 83.10
RCA 27" shows up as 86.6
RCA 32" shows up as 89.3

its a pain in the ****. We rent 2hd boxes from comcast at 7.99 a month and I refuse to pay them any more per month.

Contrary to what most cable providers say you WILL pick up most channels and in fact you will pick up some HD channels without the box but you have to look for them and they won't be on the same channel on every TV.

Lastly cable companies also remodulaet their signals every once and a while so there will come a time when you will have to do the whole setup, autoprogram (ch scan) again and yes the channels will once again move to another channel.

cable sucks Comcast REALLY sucks

Local Comcast provider is switching to more digital programming

you will need the adapter and the good news is, the box is free, the downside to this is the panasonic recorder is going to need to only record on channel 3 or 4(there is a switch on the back of the comcast box) and the comcast box will need to be on the channel the program is on. I.E. Panasonic recording channel 3 or 4 from 10-11 am comcast box on channel 55 during that time.

No cable channels at all on old Sony Triniton

make it sure that the coaxial cable has its own signal! if your tv has a raster (sometimes blue) and it says that the tv is good, but if there's no channel at all then the problem is in digital converter or the connection of the coaxial cable comes from..you can also try auto programing but if the problem still occured then contak your cable subscription channel

I have a new TV Model 47PFL3603D/F7 and am hooked up to comcast digital box and cannot figure out how to get my comcast remote to regulate the volume. I have the set on channel 3 and everything works...

Usually on a universal remote (after programmed) the volume is controlled by pressing the cable button then adjusting the volume. When you turn your tv on by pressing tv power---then flipping through the channels by pressing cable--channel up or down. The remote (in my experience usually only controls the volume while in the cable mode)
