I have a Samsung 50 in plasma tv that has sound but now picture. One day I was watching tv when the screen just turned into a horizontal thin red line across the center of the screen. Now I get no picture only sound. I've heard that it could possibly be the x or y board or that I should replace the h.v. capacitors. please help.

Turn the TV off and unplug it from the wall and also unplug everything that is connected to your TV for about 1 minute and plug everything back in again. There could some thing wrong with the power supply or a problem with the t conn board here.

Try to replace the YSCAN board. If not fix it, then it's the PDP Panel failure.

Have you tried with a new scart or htm lead?

Ive got bad news for you, about 90% of the time black horizontal lines are caused by the panel failing, your going to need a new TV. You can try replacing the timing board but the chances of it fixing it are slim..
