well if i was you i would do the following steps

step 1. take the slowcooker apart
step 2. then reput the parts back on
step 3. then see what happens

or if that doesn't work then i would buy a new one

Call Hamilton Beach. This crock pot was recalled because of threat of severe burn. My handle broke and I dropped my lid. When I called to buy a new lid, I was told of the recall. They will send you an envelope. You then send back the end of the cord. I got a whole new cooker, crock and lid in the mail. : )
