Fan inside fridge not blowing

is the ice on the floor of the freezer?if so the freezer drain is blocked,ice is building up and the fan blade is jammed from the ice.when the machine gets cold ice forms on the evap coil in the freezer,when it goes into defrost the heater turns on and melts the ice and the water drains down a hole under the evap coil and the water goes down into a pan where it evaporates from the heat of the compressor and condenser coil but your drain is blocked and the water is leaking onto the floor of the freezer instead of going down the drain,i use a steemer to clear blocked drains but if you don't have a steemer you can use a hair dryer to melt out the ice,on your machine you can pull out the machine from the wall,remove the back bottom panel and unplug it first,then look at the right side,you'll see a plastic drain line with a wire tie around it,that's the drain line,you might have to cut the tie and then pull the drain line down and remove it,now go to the freezer,you have to remove the door and racks and then remove the back inside wall of the freezer,melt out all the ice that you see with the hair dryer,after you melt the ice go to the back and snake a long plastic tie like the one that's on the drain line or if you have a piece of 1/4 inch plastic water line or anything you can think of to snake through the hole where the drain line came off of,i would use plastic,if you use metal be careful not to damage anything,then pour hot water into the drain in the freezer,if it drains out the back hole you're done,if not keep hitting it with heat and if you have a turkey baster or anything that will push air down the hole to clear it and when you think it's clear pour more hot water into the hole until it drains.hope this helps and good luck with your machine.

I have an Amana ATB1830ARB that is leaking from the inside top back of the fridge...I think it has something to do with the autodefrost...I have a container underneathe to collect the dripping...

What I would do is find the drain hole inside the evaporator and unclog it. The water from defrost operation is not draining properly.

To keep ice from forming in the hole a neat trick is to attach a wire from the heater down into the entrnace of the hole to prevent the ice from forming. Basic Ice Box 101

Water is leaking into the refrigerator from the freezer it seems to be worse when the ice maker is on

if it's worse with the ice maker on i'd have to say the ice maker is leaking but normally the water is from a blocked drain in the freezer.unplug it,remove everything out of the freezer,pull off the inside back wall of the freezer,melt out all the ice with a hair dryer,next you'll see a hole under the evap coil,that's the drain,you have to free it up,i use a steemer to blow down through the drain but if you don't have a steemer keep heating up the area where the drain hole is,you can try using a turkey baster to blow through the drain,when you think the drain is clear pour hot water into the drain hole,if it goes down you're done,if it doesn't keep heating it until the water drains down the hole.also open the fridge door,in the top of the fridge in the middle of the ceiling and where it touches the back wall you'll see a mold,that's also the drain,heat that area up with the hair dryer to melt out the ice in the drain.the problem is slime builds up in the drain,when the fridge goes into defrost the heater comes on and melts the ice off of the evap coil and the water goes down the drain and into the drip pan on the bottom of the fridge,your drain is blocked and the water is leaking into the fridge,the drain has to be cleared.good luck with your machine.if i can help you with anything else let me know.

Every day or 2 I have to mop up water on the freezer side of my side by side. it is about 10 years old now.

sounds like the drain is blocked.you might have to remove the inside back panel in the freezer but look at the bottom of the panel,if you see ice there,there's a drain hole under the ice,melt it out with a hair dryer then you have to clear the drain,i use a steamer to do this,i stick the nozzle into the hole and the steamer blasts through whatever is in the hole,if you don't have a steamer you can try to melt the ice and then blow hot air into the hole to melt the ice down in the drain,then use a turkey baster or anything that will blow into the hole,when you think the drain is clear pour hot water into the hole,if it goes down the hole it's clear if not keep hitting it until the water goes down,watch out trying to snake anything into the hole,the lines are plastic,you can try a plastic tie to snake down the hole.if the drain isn't blocked check to see if one of the water lines are leaking from under the fridge or you could have a problem with the ice maker but you'll see ice forming from that,,good luck.

That happened to us on our freezer side by side. Pull out whatever is in the bottom of your freezer, a shelf or a basket. Look on the floor of the freezer toward the back. You should see a small dime or nickle sized hole that may be covered in ice. It should have a cover on it with small holes. Check that nothing is blocking that hole. Something has probably fallen on top of it and has blocked its ability to drain thru the hole into the drain pan under the fridge when the defrost cycle comes on and the melted ice can't drain down properly. We used a hair dryer on low to carefully melt the ice that had formed on the bottom to find the drain. Sure enough a small piece of plastic wrap was blocking it. We removed the plastic and continued with the hair dryer til we could pour water in the hole and it flowed freely to the drain pan and didn't continue to back up into the freezer floor.. Be very careful with the hair dryer, put it on lowest setting and keep it moving back and forth, don't hold in one place, or it could melt or warp the plastic sides of the fridge. When the hair dryer is on low, put your hand about a foot in front of it and it should feel warm not hot. Move your hand forward til you feel the air is just warm, this is the distance you want to keep it from the ice you are melting. As the ice melts use a small towel to mop up the melted ice as you go. Our freezer and fridge or not keeping cold enough

This can be caused by the drain hole below freezer coil being blocked by ice. You MUST remove all ice in drain under freezer coil. Use turkey baster to squirt hot water into hole and use hairdryer to defrost. Possible defrost thermostat is defective. Unit never goes into defrost, ice forms on coil and in floor or back of freezer. After defrosting may work OK for a week or two but gradually gets warmer because ice is blocking ports where cool air gets to refrig. May also have water in refrig box. Can also be caused by defective defrost timer.

there are 2 possibilities. first the drain is blocked causing water to overflow from the defrost water gulley at the bottom rear of the inside of the fridge. this can form ice as it is close to the division between fridge and freezer. second, the .fault of ice growth can be caused by breakdown of the cabinet insulation. of the two, the first is the moree likely. to test drain is cloear, pour a little water down the drain. if it does'nt flow freely, push something flexible down the drain hole till blockage is clear

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very,very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system.The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater,heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.
