Sony DAV-IS10 System Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 24, 2011

Hi all, I hope someone out there can help me. Recently bought a new Samsung 46" LCD, I also have a Samsung BluRay player and HD Recorder in one, also have a PS3 and finally the Sony DAV-IS10. Everything is setup and works great, except for one thing. If I'm watching a DVD/BluRay and press Pause,Stop,Fast Forward or Rewind, as soon as I press PLAY again the Sony DAVIS10 automatically switches its function from TV to Sat/Cable which means the sound goes off everytime and I have to keep pressing the function button until its back on TV mode. I have absolutely no idea why it keeps doing this but it's very anoying. If someone could help me out I'd be very appreciative. Thank you

It's unclear where the sound is emanating or where it is lost in this scenario or even the type of connection you're using to carry it.

It almost sounds like you're using the TV for sound or it's in the audio path. The sound from any high end source should be processed by the SONY DAV as close to its original device as possible and not unnecessarily patched through the TV.

The TV only NEEDS Video. High-end Audio is wasted on it.

The symptom sounds suspiciously like a loss of data from the source to the Sony DAV.

Please clarify or establish that this does or does not happen without using the remote. Sometimes remote commands are heeded by unintended devices. Try to Pause/Play sequence using front panel buttons on the unidentified Samsung BluRay to eliminate that possibility.

Observe the indicators on the Sony for any clues when the problem occurs.

Hello there.

Push "Play/Pause" and "DVD Rec" on the dvd recorder a few seconds to see the service menu. There you can find your firmware version.

Post back the version for us.

Hope this helps.

When we plug the blu ray player into hdmi port and audio ports, we are only getting sound. The tv gives us a "no signal" and "invalid format" yellow box error.

Hello
Unfortunately your TV is only HD ready. This means that it plays video in 720p. A full bluray disc is 1080p. Im afraid your tv will most likely not be able to handle a bluray player.
:( sorry
Hope this helps

I recently bought a Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S370. The issue I have is that it will not play any DVD's on my Samsung HD TV The message "Mode not supported keeps coming up" Thanks

When you see "Mode Not Supported," hold down the "stop" button on the Bluray player for about 15 seconds and release it. This should reset the player to the lowest resolution over HDMI.

Check other Bluray player settings such as deep color, resolution etc. for conflicts.

BRAND NEW 42in. vizio 1080 LCD HD 120HZ picture not clear

the tv models in store are usually have samples from blueray dvds. standard dvd players will look fuzzy because it only submits standard dvd picture quality. you can try an upvert dvd player. tho i cant promise picture quality. i have an xbox 360 that upverts the quality. if you get a bluray player i recommend hdmi wires. if you get upvert dvd player and it has an hd outlet red, blue, green wires it might work. i havent tried one myself. if you dont want to spend money on bluray dvds. i recommend an xbox console. it upverts dvds through hdmi or hd red, blue, green wires

Hd tv

Projection TV's have a very nice picture, but they still do not look as sharp as a plasma, LCD or CRT. It is an HD picture, it is just the problem with projection TV's (depending on just how bad the picture is), it should still look good, but it will not compete with the others types of TV's

LN-T4665F 46 in. LCD- Black Line across screen

The set is under a year old and is under warranty. The LVDS cable inside these sets have a history of coming loose. The problem could be the panel. Either way, the set is the problem and needs to be looked at. This set is worked on in the home and does not need to be taken to a shop, so, you can still use it. Contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG Hope this helps.
