Yes. AC to USB adapters are available anywhere cell phone chargers are sold. One end plugs into a wall outlet and you can plug the USB cord from your Sansa into the other end. I use such a device every night to charge my Sansa.
Did you try to reset the player? You do this by sliding and holding the power button on the side for about 15-20 seconds. I have a Sansa Clip which resets in the same way. Best of luck!
Yep - it's a sad thing. iPod docks have ruined many a good mp3 player. Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisk's website (make sure the Sansa is not plugged into the computer yet). Once the Recovery Tool is downloaded, connect the Sansa to the computer while holding in the REC button and continue to hold it even after th player is plugged in. It should go into Recovery Mode in 10-15 seconds or so.
I'm sorry to say this but you will probably end up having to return it as tons of people including me have had to do. I got one for Christmas and it worked for a day, just a day, imagine my horror when it didn't work anymore it did the same exact dumb freezing thing. Sansa has offered a solution but it's just crap. Return it to save yourself some time and frustration, think about buying another mp3 that has better feedback from buyers, like say the creative zen 1gb for 89.99 its a good alternative that I'm going to buy as a replacement for my sansa it's more money but its worth it you get what you paid for. If not the creative zen than choose carefully the mp3 your going to buy go to websites that show customer feed back. I'm sure if I'd have not wanted a sansa if I had know so many people's kept freezing. Don't be sad, happy mp3 shopping!
