Which was did you try and format it? throught "My Computer" or using the software that came with it?
If you used software that come with it to format try using the way through my computer which may resolve it or do the opposit format using the software if you haven't already tryed.
To do it through my computer first connect your mp3 player then go to "My Computer" now look for your device usualy called "Removable Disk" once you've found it Right-click" on it then click "Format" once format is complete disconnect then with a bit of luck the problems fixed.
Good luck. Hope my solution was helpful in some way. Further problems leave a comment on here and i will get back to you a.s.a.p.

U might have formatted it to NTFS. Convert it to FAT.

If you can´t format your pendrive from my computer (mi pc) do this:
go to control panel (panel de control), administrative tools (herramientas administrativas), device administration (administración de dispositivos). Then, right click on your pendrive and click format. that´s all
SOURCE: NEED DRIVER SOFTWARE FOR YP-T9JB DIGITAL AUDIO
ok...below is a discussion (on another repair forum) of these issues:
http://forums.pcw.co.uk/showthread.php?t=142678
...and here is a better link to that driver download than the one he gave:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/download/supportDown.do?type=mp3digitalaudio&type_cd=03040000&subtype=YP-T9&subtype_cd=yp_t9&model_nm=YP-T9JAB&mType=SW&vType=L&prd_ia_cd=03041000&disp_nm=YP-T9JAB
..post back later if you can, but remember Vista 64 needs all its service packs. If you can try WinXp and then reset your Vista install for a similar install (see related info on this site)..that might
do it.
