You may want to solder the negative of the wire to the metal back part of the RCA plug .
You may need to buy a soldering iron and lead solder.
Depands on the plug type you may find one that just scres the wires on.
is it 3.5 mm stereo socket ?
is it 3.5 mm mono socket ?
There are other types of plug types see

What make and model tv .
Most if not all flat screen tv's do not have speaker outputs
but they do have rca audio outputs, these are marked audio output
and are round with a red centre, these outputs will require an external amplifier to power speakers.
I have not been able to find a clear diagram of your Acer model but there appears to be a door flap at the bottom front of the case which flips open. I believe you will find the speaker socket behind this flap, as well as the USB sockets. The speaker socket is light green. There is also a green speaker socket at the rear of the case at the top.
try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems hope this helps
Have you connected the Left speaker to the right speaker using the supplied cable? If not, connect the cable to the socket on the back of the right speaker labelled "to left speaker" and on the left speaker, to the socket labelled "from right speaker" If this still doesn't solve the problem, try swapping the input cables (put the white plug in the red socket and vice versa) to see if this makes the left speaker produce sound, if it does, check the connection at the source to check the plug(s) are in all the way. If there is still no sound in the left speaker, unplug everything and do the following: connect the left and right speakers with the supplied phono lead (Probably black) between sockets labelled "to left speaker" and "from right speaker" then connect the source to any of the inputs on the back of the right speaker (ensure if using the red and white phono inputs that both are connected) finally plug in power source. Hope this helps
Look at the rear of the computer.
There will be different coloured jack plug sockets.
The speaker out is green and the mic. in is pink.
There may be other colours, these are for multi speaker (3.1 5.1 +) setups.
Your manual should give you a diagram
Hi,
Some TomTom one speakers are known to have faults develop. Usually the speaker goes ipen circuit resulting in no sound at all. other can simply go distorted. It might be that your speaker has gone faulty. ( some scrap laptops might yield a suitable replacement speaker as they often will fit )
Another fault common on TomTom one ( early version ) is the extension speaker socket on the base of the TomTom becomes dirty or it can be stressed if you have ever had need to use the socket. The socket also acts as a switch to turn the internal speaker off when the socket is uses. It is very easy to end up with a bent contact on this socket so that even when any plug is removed the switch contact on the socket remains open. This results in sound being cut-off to the internal speaker or the sound might become low or distorted.
I would recommend you check out both these possibilities . Please let me know via this forum how you get on.
Just connect the pre existing speaker or earpiece through a newly installed E.P. socket.Whenever headset is connected to the E.P. socket, internal speaker will be disabled and external will be enabled. Same you have to do in the case of mic. Some more details are given below. 1.E.P. Socket = Earphone Socket ( With Series Switch, A SPDT switch is already attached to the inner side of the socket, whenever an E.P. Pin / Plug is inserted into the socket, It changes the position of the SPDT switch). 2.The inner speaker / earpiece / mic should be connected through the N/C ( Normally Connected ) Contact of the socket.
