Can be any of the below'
1. The connection between the screen and the unit maybe be damaged. You will have to change this.
2. The Driver IC/component driving the LCD maybe faulty. This will need to be changed.
3. The screen itself may be faulty;
a) bad connections
b) power supply
c) back lights (check closely if you can see any display)
d) the circuit in the screen has malfunctioned
in all this case you will need to see a professional repairer to have it diagnosed.

One of the logical solutions is that you try to shut down the pc , remove battery and cables & then hold the power button for 8 secs. That way, you can determine if the circuitry of the monitor is functioning. Otherwise , you need to contact MSI for repair..

Can i connect my laptop to a crt monitor if my unit has no display

Many laptops have the ability to connect to an external monitor. On most the monitor can be used in a manner similar to a projector output for presentations. On some the monitor can be configured as an extension of the desktop, essentially giving you a double wide screen.

If the problem with your laptop is with the LCD display and not with the display circuitry, it may be possible to use it with the external display. If the problem is not with the LCD screen, chances are that the external monitor won't work either.

Toshiba satellite c675 monitor light up but not displaying anything

Hook up an external monitor to determine if you have a logic board or LCD problem If the external monitor works the trouble is with the display or its cables. You should also double check that your memory is properly installed and you may want to replace your bios battery. you will need to aquire a toshiba manual for your laptop to help you fix these issues. here is the link for finding your manual Search

Have power but no Display

Bonnin, Can you see a faint image on the screen? Have you tried to hookup an external monitor?
IF you can see a faint image on the screen, and a normal image on the external monitor, you have a bad power inverter (for the lcd screen) or a bad back light (in the lcd screen).
Take laptop to a shop to have them verify.
Hope this helps.

Looking for a display inverter cable for msi megabook s270

Here's an MSI lcd cable but make sure it matches the model number on your lcd cable. It did not say it was for megabook S270 but some other models. Most cables go across different models.

Toshiba satllite power on no display

Possible that the LCD panel is faulty , possible that the linking wire to the LCD panel is open.
Connect an external display to the PC and if the PC boots and works without any issues then the fault is associated only with the display. It can be a power issue to the panel, loss of back light or drive from the motherboard.
You need to trace and check continuity from the motherboard to the display unit to confirm.

My msi u210 stays black the screen when i turned on. only the the led that look moon light..how do i fix the problem somebody know how or anybody encountered the same problem?

Hi malbasmunchy,

If you see power lights but nothing appears on the screen, it could be a "POST" (Power-on Self Test) problem or simply LCD problem.

Here are some steps that you can try.

1. Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for at least 20 seconds to drain electric charges left from the system. (You may need to repeat this step to get it work.)

2. If above step doesn't work, try to plug in an external monitor and see if you get display from the external monitor. You may need to press the Fn + F4 or F5, depends on the key designed on the keyboard to toggle between displays.

3. If you get display from the external monitor, I'm sure your having problem with the LCD components. In this case, check and replace faulty LCD backlight, LCD cable or LCD inverter. The LCD inverter is often a culprit.

4. Try to reinsert the memory module/s (RAM) of the unit, try using one RAM at a time to see if it works. A faulty RAM will cause the laptop not to POST.

5. If reinserting the RAM doesn't help, most likely your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

- try to connect you machine to an external monitor
- if the display appears on your external monitor the problem would be the LCD screen of your laptop (need to replace it)
- if there is no display on both laptop and external monitor i suspected it's the motherboard faulty

LCD / External VGA output problems

Hi
If you are still faced with this problem.....
Possibly the video card has gone in the unit. The original screen on the laptop may have had an blown inverter which would not stop the funcioning of the external display. However for the external disply to stop working would suggest the video card. Before going this far have you checked to see if there is power to the external monitor? Have you tried the monitor on another computer? If the monitor works with another computer you can be certain there is more wrong with your poor old iBook. You will need to take it in to be looked at.

Hope this helps.

Acer Travelmate 6291 LCD monitor problem

Hi,

Your concern is a typical problem with LCD displays/monitors. There could possibly be three (3) reasons why it is behaving as you have posted.
1. Backlight/Inverter problem;
2. LCD panel problem;
3. Video card problem.

You can do initial diagnosis by:
a. connect the laptop to an external monitor. Using the Fn + F? keys, activate the external monitor to be the default display. If it works, you have eliminated the possibility of the video card having a problem. If it likewise did not display anything or blanks out after sometime, then you have just confirmed that it is the video card that is a problem.

If you have ruled out the video card (using above procedure), you can proceed determining if it is an LCD panel problem or backlight/inverter problem.

To determine if it is a backlight/inverter problem, run the laptop normally even without a display. Let it boot and run through its startup sequence even if you can not see anything. Using a flashlight, shine a light obliquely to the face of the LCD display. if you can see some semblance of your desktop albeit dark, then you have just confirmed that it is the backlight/inverter. If even with the aid of a flashlight, the display s completely blank, then it is possible that the LCD display panel is defective. In some cases it is the flexible flat cable that is at fault.

With any of the aforementioned possible problems, opening the unit is required. This would need familiarity with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and perhaps even a soldering iron. Should you not be comfortable doing this, it would probably be to your best advantage to seek the services of a qualifiedly professional.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
