Hi,

At this piont of time, I am afraid to inform you that this could be because of a hardware failure., but we can try out some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

Please perform the steps given in the weblink below:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00489814&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=439488

If the issue persists even after performing the steps, it means there is a hardware failure in the machine.

Get it serviced, if it is in warranty, contact Service Center.

I hope the best.

Error message Oxc18a0301 on my hp photosmart c6150 printer

Hi,

The "Oxc18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer. If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).

Thank you!!

HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one error Oxc18a0301 I replaced 2 ink cat with proper ink. Now I get error oxc18a0301 I have the same problem with the HP C7180... I try to do unplug, move the cartridge,...

I tried all of the above, but nothing worked. The error message continued to appear as soon as I would turn on the printer and blocked whatever function. I had it back in the shop to service it, but they just told me not to spend any money on it and buy a new one. So did HP itself when I contacted them.
I finally ran accross this, which took of the errore message and now actually the printer is working like before.
I had the USB disconnected, the power cord disconnected as well and all the cartridges taken our, just as written in the instructions above. But then turning on the printer again, I hold down the OK and HELP button. And that did the trick for me: My C5180 would turn on and then switch itself of after a while. I then stopped to hold down the buttons and turned it on normally (still no USB connected) It did all the setup (language, country, ecc.) and then finally told me that the cartridges were missing. I reinstalled them and turned back to normal.
Hope it'll be of help for some of the many desperate HP users.

HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one error Oxc18a0301 I replaced 2 ink cat with proper ink. Now I get error oxc18a0301

Perform the normal assert troubleshooting:
-turn ON the printer
-disconnect the usb cable from both ends of the printer and pc if printer is connected with USB cable
-open the cartridge door and remove all the ink cartridges
-close everything without installing the cartridge
-disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer without turning off the power
-wait for 30 secs
-plug the power cable back in and install all the ink cartridges if the printer turns on
-wait the printer to initialize and stop making noises
**don't attempt to print this time
-turn off the printer by disconnecting the power cable from the back
-wait another 30 secs
-plug the power cable back in and if the printer is ready to go
-try printing a test page

Get back to me if it doesn't work.
