If the ios 5 is in beta. That means that it's in Test mode. If it keeps messing up and dying. It's not ready yet.

Beta = Test

So the best you can do is offer feedback to Apple over it, then restore your phone back the the latest ios 4 for the time being, and wait for ios 5 to get out of Beta mode

Ipad problems

This article may help you. It is for iPhone, but the same operating system runs on iPad as well.

Several months ago I downloaded iOS 7 beta with developer program. It worked fine. When iOS 7 had officially came out, I checked my phone and it restarted on its own. The locked screen said"Activation Error: This device is not registered as part of the iPhone Developer Program. If you are a member of the iPhone Developer Program, please register your device in the iPhone Developer Program Portal at http://developer.apple.com/iphone." I went to the link using my computer, although I am not a developer, and it didn't help me.
Recent days we see lots of iPhone users reported iOS 7 activation error. How did this happened? It is probably because users installed iOS 7 beta 6. As the iOS 7 beta has expired on October 6, which means anyone still running one won't be able to use their iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, and won't even be able to get past Activation if they try.
If you're experiencing an iOS 7 activation error on your iPhone/other device and were previously using iOS7 beta, there's a good chance to fix it with following simple steps:
1) make sure you have upgraded to iTunes 11.1.1. It is the most recent version of iTunes.
2) Plug you iPhone/iDevice into your computer. Back up the data on the device.
3) Click "Restore" on your device's page in iTunes. If this doesn't work, proceed to DFU mode
4) your device is done restoring and activating you can restore your data from your iTunes backup
5) you can use your non-beta iOS 7
If iTunes says there is no newer version to upgrade to, you can put your iPhone or device to DFU mode after the backup. DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode will make sure you download and install the latest release version of iOS off of Apple's servers.
1) Plug your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad into your Mac or Windows PC and make sure iTunes is running.
2) Hold down both the Sleep Button (on top of your device) and the Home Button (on the front underneath the screen).
3) Keep them both held down from about 10 seconds. (If you see the Apple logo, you've held them too long and will need to start again.)
4) Let go of the Sleep Button but keep holding the Home Button for about 5 seconds. (If you see the "Plus into iTunes" screen than you held it too long and will need to start again.)
5) Restore the device

How To Fix 1601, 1602, or 21 Error Codes During iPhone 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 Custom...

97c343d.jpg
Are you trying to downgrade or restore your iPhone or iTouch from the official 3.1, 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 Firmware to a Custom Firmware and your iTunes displaying the following 1601, 1602, 16xx or 21 error codes? iH8sn0w has just released a utility named iREB (iTunes Restore Error Bypasser), which provides a workaround to fix these errors.
iREB is available for both Windows and MAC Operating systems. Tool runs on both iPhone & iPhone 3G with Firmware 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, and also on iPod touch 1G and 2G.
So here is the work around for 1601, 1602, 1604, 16xx or 1621 Error Codes…
New version of iREB is out for 3.1.2 Devices… If you’re upgraded to the latest firmware (3.1.2 or 3.1.3) you should use this download / tool for the errors you’re experiencing. New version has additional devices and more options available.
1. Download iH8sn0w’s iREB 3.1.2 archive for Windows or Mac.
2. Start iTunes and put your iPhone in Recovery Mode; to do so, hold Home and Power button in your iPhone simultaneously and release Power button after a while (10 seconds approx). Keep on holding Home button, till you see following error message appearing in iTunes stating.
d86fe9f.png
3. Now close iTunes and start iREB, following interface will open.d00f484.png

4. Now select your plugged in device in iREB 3.1.2 and it will then show the White creen after few seconds. This happens fast so if you didn’t see it don’t worry… You will also hear sounds (maybe) like your iPhone is being plugged in and unplugged from your computer… That’s normal… The ih8sn0w.exe will crash… That’s normal, as long as you get a white screen…
5. NOTE: If you still don’t see the WHITE screen, you should do this… While the device is still plugged in and iREB running, put your device into the DFU mode. PRESS and HOLD both buttons on your iPhone for 12 Seconds and then release the POWER button (Located at the top of your Device) while still holding down the HOME button… Hold down the HOME button for 30 Seconds… (Yes 30 Seconds) until you get the WHITE Screen, the iTunes will come up with a message stating it found an iPhone in Recover Mode… At this point you can let go of the HOME button… you will be asked to restore this iPhone… and the iREB tool will crash
6. Now start iTunes again and select your device (iPhone/iPod) from iTunes DEVICES tab.
7. To restore original settings on your Apple device, press and hold left “OPTION” button on the keyboard (“SHIFT” button for Windows), iTunes will give you option for Upgrade and Restore, click on “Restore” option in the iTunes and then release the “OPTION/SHIFT” button. Select .ipsw file and restore it

My screen is stuck on plug into the itunes screen

Probably something went wrong, and your iPhone itself sees that too. That's why your iPhone asks to connect it to your PC or Mac with iTunes installed.
-Start iTunes on your PC or Mac
-Connect your iPhone to the PC or Mac
-Probably iTunes will advise to recover your iPhone.
>>If you didn't make regular backups of your data you probably will lose the data that's on your iPhone.<<
-Wait until the recovery procedure is done and see if your iPhone works again.

What if iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone anymore in iTunes?
Thy a "soft reset' by pressing the ON/OFF button on top of your iPhone and the round menu button underneath your screen simultaneously until your iPhone reboots. Check if your iPhone connects to iTunes and try the recovery.
I hope this will help you solving your problem.

I need to get rid of IOS 7 I want IOS 6 back please help?

  1. Back up your device.
  2. Download the proper release for your device:

Download iOS 6.1.4 iPhone 5 AT&T & T-Mobile
Download iOS 6.1.4 iPhone 5 Verizon & Sprint
Download iOS 6.1.3 Other
  1. Put your device into Device Firmware Update mode by plugging it into your home computer and holding the power and home button for ten seconds. Then release only the power button, continuing to hold the home button down for ten additional seconds.
  2. Ignore any restore prompt.
  3. Open the panel for iPhone.
  4. Shift click/Option click (Win/Mac) the restore iPhone button.
  5. In the dialog box that pops up, search for the .ipsw file you previously downloaded.

That should do it. If you have any problems with the install you can always restore your iPhone using your previously made back up.
