Try using CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It sounds like you may have locked your
keyboard by accident. Once you hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE, it will bring up the
log in page. Simply enter your password, if any, and you should be good to
go.

SOURCE: keyboard does not work

i would suggest starting over.. uninstall the drivers for the keyboard mouse and go download the new ones from the manufactures website and fallow the instructions. typically they want you to install the drivers first before plugging in the wireless receiver. i hope this helps.. good luck.

side note- if your having the same problem with 2 diffrent wireless keyboards. you might have some interference from another wireless device. i.e. cordless phone, cell phone. so you might troubleshoot that if the drivers dont work.

SOURCE: Logitech S510 mouse will not turn on

I am assuming since you need batteries that the mouse is cordless. If so you normaly have to sync the mouse with the receiver. If the keyborad and mouse came as a package it will only have one receiver. There should be corresponding sync buttons for these devices.

SOURCE: how to turn keyboard and mouse on

make sure there is new batteries in both the mouse and keyboard. Also the wireless receiever that connects to the computer is responding as well.

After you get new batteries put in and also have the receiever plugged in. press the caps lock, num lock keys and see if they light up on the receiver. If they light up then things are working, if they don't then bring up the notepad and see if any of the keys show up in notepad when you type and also see if the cursor on the screen moves for your mouse.

Hopefully both of them will work once you change batteries. If both don't work after changing batteries then you'll need to get a new wireless keyboard/mouse kit.

I've had this wireless mouse for 3 months (microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000). it just stopped working. the battery is fresh (the red light is still on) and the transmitter is still firmly in the usb...

When you replace the Battery on a Wireless Mouse you have to link the Mouse again with your USB receiver. There should be a Button on the bottom of the Mouse that could be marked, Reset, or Link or something similar. Just turn on your Mouse and hold this Button for a few second until the USB receiver finds the signal.

Microsoft Wireless 4000 Mouse - No Red Light on Base

The red laser light stopped working on mine and it turned out to be the connetion between the battery tray and the circuit board. There is a metal tab on the circuit board and a matching one on the battery tray. When the battery tray slides in correctly the two tabs touch and viola (!), my red laser light came back on. Maybe one tab or the other got bent when I slammed the tray in crooked when replacing a battery- who knows.

Microsoft 4000 wireless keyboard is not working

Look under the wireless keyboard. There is a door to install batteries. It sounds as though you just need to replace the batteries on the keyboard. I think that they're AA.

Good luck!
