Fit a new rubber door seal - Hotpoint Aquarius WF220 Front Load Washer

You need to fit a new door seal
Straightforward job once you bought the part
Check the rubber bellows before fitting as there may be small drain hole or slot which goes to the bottom

Hi this is quite a common problem, you have a couple of options you can either go out and buy a new door rubber seal or if it one of those seals where you can get you hand in between two parts of the seal then what you can do is get some thick string and run this in the middle of the seal doing this will pack the seal out a bit and then when the door is shut this will make a lot better seal and it will then stop the water getting in.

ps the rubber seal isnt to expensive to buy but even a new rubber may still have the same problem as its more to do with the way the door is fitted and it seems it dont push the seal hard enough to prevent water getting in so i have found packing it out with some thick string or twine will push the seal out more and will seal it properly when you shut the door to

i think your talking about the rubber door seal????
you can change this yourself,,,under the seal on the case is a wire spring unhook it and the door seal will fold inside the washer,,,on the inner drum you will find the other wire spring undo this as well and pull the old door seal out through the hole in the door,,,the new seal is fitted to the iner drun first so you need to turn the new seal inside out to fit it,,,push the seal into the washer and fit the inner wire first then unfold the seal and fit it over the outer door so you can fit the wire spring,,,
easy after you have fitted a fuw 100?

there is no need to remove the side to replace the door seal, just behind the door seal there is a spring clip undo this and fold the seal into the drum were you should see another spring clip undo that as well and the door seal comes out from the front through the hole in the door, to refit a new fold the seal till its inside out and fitted on the inner drum first fit the inner clip then pull it through the door hole and fit the outer spring clip out side the door

Remove the wire clamp securing rubber seal to front of washer, pull seal of front of washer, this will give you clear access to tjhe door hinge, ondo the 2 screws securing the door hinge, remove door ,and seperate the 2 door halves by removing the screws securing it together
Replace with new hinge, fit back in reverse order.

OPEN THE DOOR
THERE IS A WIRE AND SPRING CLAMP AROUND THE SEAL, PULL BACK THE SEAL WITH YOUR FINGERS AND YOU WILL SEE IT
TAKE OFF THE CLAMP
FOLD THE SEAL BACK INTO THE DRUM
YOU WILL SEE ( OR FEEL ) A CLAMP AROUND THE SEAL ON THE DRUM
SLACKEN OFF THE SCREW HOLDING IT UNTIL YOU CAN PULL OFF THE SEAL.
FIT A NEW ONE IN REVERSE ORDER.

HINT- WIPING WITH LIQUID DETERGENT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO FIT THE NEW SEAL.
HINT2 - YOU MAY NEED 4 PAIR OF HANDS TO FIT THE SPRING CLAMP

This seems to be a common problem with front loaders, but there is an easy fix if you follow these simple steps:

1. The rubber seal fits over the lip around the door opening. Carefully seat the rubber seal all the way around the door opening first.
2. Then, place the wire hoop in the crease where the rubber seal fits over the lip. Insert the hoop with the spring pointing at the bottom. Starting at the top and work your way around the door opening to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions.
3. While holding the hoop in place, stretch the spring apart enough to allow the rest of the hoop to snap into the crease at the bottom of the door opening. You may need a second pair of hands to help you with this.

when you open the door you find a this wire clamp round the edge of the door seal, this just comes off with little force, this has to go back on obviously so don't bend it, the door seal just folds back on itself, the clamp on the drum end is often a large thin spring, and that also just pulls off, the seal then also comes away with a little pull, the new seal is fitted with the groove either side of the drum lip, then the spring is put back, take note how all is removed before working on it? the front of the seal is fitted then the wire, close the door to check a tight but easy fit, check for any leaks and correct fitting before leaving machine unattended any time, sound worse that what it actually is, if i have helped rate me,
