Username: admin password: admin if that doesn't work, just reset it.

- reset instructions -
Push in the reset button on the back of the router, just to the left of the power port, for approximately 10-15 seconds, then wait 30 seconds, you will then be back at factory defaults. you then login to the router by typing http://192.168.0.1 into your browser, username: admin password: admin

Dont remember password

password to your network?

well you can try accessing your router through your computer by plugging it in directly to your router with an ethernet cord. Once connected to your router. open a web browser and type in

192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

one of the ip addresses should bring a dialog box up with a username and password field.

the user name can be

admin or user

password can be

admin or user or password.

try admin and admin first then admin and password then repeat with user.

once into your router you can go to wireless security settings and change your password in there.

I dont have a disk to install my wep key to stop people from stealing my internet

open a web browser window on the connected computer and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar and press enter. A window will pop up prompting you for a username and password to access the configuration page for your router. Enter admin for both the username and password.

If it not accept then type user name Admin leave the password box blank and then click ok.

If it still does not accept it that means you have changed your user name and password of linksy.
To get your linksys default settings you will have to reset your linksys router by inserting a paperclip into the small Tiny hole into the back of the Linksys router for 10 sec.

Now you try to access router by user name and password which is mentioned above.

now you will have Linksys router page and now click on Security seetings on top

choose WPA PSK security settings

Now it will as you the security key

Enter any security minimum of 8 Characters anything you like.

click save settings on the bottom.

now try to connect to your Wireless network

it will ask you the security key

Enter your security and your wireless network is secured now.

here is also the Linksys Tech support no. as well. to know your exact user name and password of linksys and other details.

Can't find password for my router. tried: user

You'll find the manual on the CD as well. It answers many of your questions...

Default password is "admin" (without the quotes, all lowercase) unless you have changed it with the configuration program on the CD. Leave the username field empty.

How do I lock my Dell TruMobile 2300 wireless router to keep the neighbors from getting access to my wireless internet connection

press win key + r
under run type cmd
on the command prompt type ipconfig
not down your defaut gateway.
type it in your web browser, and then enter the correct user name and password for the router.(i u dont know the user name leave it blank or try admin for both user name and password or its combination o call dell for it)
Create a unique password on your router : Once you have logged into your router, the first thing you should do to secure your network is to change the default password* of the router to something more secure.
This will prevent others from accessing the router and you can easily maintain the security settings that you want. You can change the password from the Administration settings on your router’s settings page. The default values are generally admin / password.
Change your Network’s SSID name:
The SSID (or Wireless Network Name) of your Wireless Router is usually pre-defined as "default" or is set as the brand name of the router (e.g., linksys). Although this will not make your network inherently* more secure, changing the SSID name of your network is a good idea as it will make it more obvious for others to know which network they are connecting to.
This setting is usually under the basic wireless settings in your router’s settings page. Once this is set, you will always be sure that you are connecting to the correct Wireless network even if there are multiple wireless networks in your area. Don’t use your name, home address or other personal information in the SSID name.
This is sufficient to secure your router from other to use it.

Create a password for wireless internet connection

Hi. Open your browser and go to http://192.168.1.1
the default username and password is admin / admin.
Once you are inside the router, you will see on the left the menu such as network map, operation mode, advanced settings. Under advanced settings you will see the Wireless configuration where you can change the SSID (name of the wireless network) to any name you want. Then on the security you can select either WEP or WPA, i would recommend WPA and you set the password (letters and numbers or just letters) and save the settings and that's it.
Try to do this on a computer directly connected to the router (via ethernet cable) because any change on the wireless will disconnect you.
I hope this helps. Please do not forget to write and provide positive feedback for our fast/free support today. :D
