Low under the steering wheel there may be an adjusting knob. If it is there are you turn it, it should adjust the height of the deck. If you lower the deck and try to turn the knob it will be difficult to turn and you will know that is what it is for, the deck lower stop. Then pull up the deck and adjust a bit and lower the deck and see where it is, repeat until satisfied with the deck height when lowered.

You purchased a used one, right? Could the spindles/mandrels/quills been replaced? If you know someone with a Husq. you could measure their mower. If it is all original, then I do not know if there is a way to lower, it would be as it was built and I have not seen anything that lowers the blades further within the deck except if there is another spindle that mounts and works that has a little different spacing. I have that problem with one of my decks and the difference is due to different maker of part. but my difference is no more than 1/2 inch.

Left side is scalping especially when turning

Stephen Bent/damage blade or spindle, check your deck for support link pin missing, damaged or rusted out brackets, blade spindle loose/mount damages or rusted out, missing deck support spring,wheel/roller if equipped, damaged blades, Recheck tire pressure and front steering axles for bent/damage, etc.
When measuring deck for level, measure at blade tips not the deck on a flat level surface. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How to adjust the mower deck on my murray rider,

Park the tractor on a firm, level surface. . .
At the lower end of the lift/lower travel slot, there should be a plastic cover which you pop up so that your blade lift handle goes all the way down (it should say something about blade level on there somewhere. . . . .
After you have the handle in this position, look at the front lift arms of the mower deck and find the 2 large wing nuts, one on each side. . . . .
Loosen these while the deck is down and then retighten them Your deck is now level and will lift to its highest recommended position when you raise the lever

Mandrel on right side has broken 3 times have only done 7.3 hours

It sounds like your blade is hitting the ground when you are mowing. If you have high spots in your yard the blade will cut into the ground and the mounts on the mandrel will break. Make sure the mower rake adjustment is set correctly, the mower blade should be level or a maximum of 1/4 inch lower in the front. This adjustment is done with the adjuster bolt that runs from the front of the mower to the frame under the muffler, it may have one or two rods connecting the mower at this point. Also make sure the wheels are set down far enough so they can prevent the deck from scalping, they have five different mount holes,if they are up in the highest they will not do anything.Unfortunately these mower mandrels will not take a lot of punishment and they can break when the blades contact anything like dirt or tree roots. Your ultimate action may be just to mow the grass a little higher to keep from scalping. Hope this helps.

Does not give a short enough cut

Have you always had this problem?
Have you had the blades off to sharpen?
Could the blades have been mistakenly put on upside down ?
The turned up piece goes toward the deck
Check your deck hangers to be sure they are free and not binding anywhere and to be sure they are dropping as far as they can go in the lowest deck setting.
your deck should move up and down evenly as you lower and raise it.
Unless spacers are an option for this cause i wouldnt use them.
Check the tire pressure 14 psi front 10psi rear .

hope some of this helps for you
