Check the pressure on the foot, if you sew on fine or silky fabric that will also be a cause or the teeth may have dropped down a bit and not gripping the material

How do I setup Bernina virtuoso 150 to do blanket stitch

Check your machine's stitch options. A lot of older Bernina machines do not have a blanket stitch option. Although, you may find another stitch that will work.

Depends on how it's broken, but as the saying goes - with enough time and money, anything is possible.

I have a Bernina 1030 and the size of the straight stich knob is jammed it willonly turn back to 1 which means it will not straight stich just a small zigzag. Can you please help.thanks Joy

I suspect the machine's stitch selector mechanism has seized due to old, dried oil. (I have a 930 and several older Bernina models, and oiling thoroughly and frequently is necessary to keep these nice mechanicals running smoothly.) However, if the knob on the straight stitch selection lever is frozen, you may need to take it for service if you are unable to free it on your own.

How do I make a new buttonhole on my 1260? B

Hi Karen,
Sew two parallel lines of overlock stitches very close together. Then see overlock stitches accros the ends of the first lot of stitches to close them off. Finally, carefully cut the fabric between the first set of stitches. Try this out several times on some scrap fabric. You'll need to get the spacings sorted out.

Bernina 1030: the stitch size/reverse lever no longer works.

Not sure what you mean by no tension from the top. If you mean that you cannot feel the spring action when you push the lever up into reverse, you need to take the machine in for repair.

Bernina 1030 needle not moving up or down

I believe the 1030 has a basting stitch, similar to the 930 Record. If the basting stitch is not run regularly, it may lock up the machine requiring a technician's expertise to get it working again.

My bernina 1030 won't feed material

Make sure the feed dogs are in the raised position and that the presser foot has been lowered before beginning to stitch.

How do you make a buttonhole with a Bernina 830?

Hey, I have a Bernina 830 Record. If it's the same machine, set your stitch length at 0 then back it off about 1 to 2 turns. The middle button is your button hole. Got to one and it goes down the left side, #2 is the bottom cross bar, #3 goes backwards up to form the right side of the buttonhole and $4 is the tack across the top, #5 stitches it into place. I have my original manual if you have any other questions!
