Dear Pastor Jim
It sounds like both pots heating elements went out or are going out and need replaced! You didnt give the model numbers so I cant tell you the parts numbers to order! but if you go to the faberware website with the model numbers I am sure they can help you!
This should be an easy fix if you are the handy man type!

If you have the L1350/155C, the manual states 1-1/4 cups coffee for 12 (5 oz) cups, for 30 cups use 3 cups coffee using standard measuring cups. Take the stem & filter out when the coffee has finished brewing so the bitter oils do not get into the coffee.
Your coffee is too finely ground for your basket. 2 solutions: buy "regular" ground coffee from now on, OR use filters inside the basket. Many 30 cup or 45 cup maker's baskets are sized so that a normal filter, flattened-out, and a small hole torn in the middle will fit into basket and prevent the grounds from passing through.
Check the spring under the grounds basket on the pump tube. This is supposed to hold the end of the tube down in the heater well. It should compress when the lid is pushed down on the basket and twisted to lock in under the handles. I have found a good source of parts for Faberware urns and percolators at goodmans.net. The thermostats and heating elements can be easily replaced and the urn returned to original condition. Rich of Colorado
We use 'em every sunday at church - 1/2 cup grounds for every 10 cups water. Allowances: finer coffees will use less grounds, and the more you are making, the fewer grounds you need ( or vice versa- the less you are making, you may need to increase grounds a bit, as perk time will be shorter
