Hi there. My dewalt dc618 has stopped firing nails. Was putting on oak facings when a nail jammed so got it out with opening clip at top of nail cartridge. when tryed firing another nail guns not firing. it just makes firing noise. had a look inside and noticed that spring which pushes nozzle back is bit slack, could this be the problem.

Yes, if it is not pushing the safety back far enough. Also check for pieces of nails debris in the slave slide.

SOURCE: dewalt dc618 wont drive a nail

its probably jammed. i have one of those and it tends to jam everyonce in a while. either that or the battery is dead. those two reasons will keep it from firing.

Dc618 brad gun wont fire on bump

The link below is where you can download the owners manual. The link is on that page near the top right hand side under the area marked downloads. Page 5 will show you were the switch is located that switches the tool from sequential fire to bump fire.

Can the carriage on a dewalt dc618 nailgun be adjusted

The only adjustment on nail guns is for the nail drive depth, the magazine is hard mounted to the nose piece. If you are having problems with the nail clips feeding, first make sure the entire feed path is clear of any nails, parts of nails or other foreign things. Then make sure the nails you are using are fully compatable with your nailgun. Your gun needs 16 guage nails set at a 20-degree angle no shorted than 1 1/4" and no longer than 2 1/2" long. Any deviation from those requirements will only give you a headache worse than what you have now.

When I pull the trigger it will not fire a nail, air running through the nailer is all that will happen?

You could have a nail jammed. Remove the front assem. where the nails come out and see if somthings stuck like a nail.

The gun won't put out any nails anymore......It is a cordless bradnailer..

If it is the cordless Brad Nailer and will not fire nails anymore chances are the drive belt came off track. Internally those DeWalt cordless nailers operate much like a Baseball pitching machine. And when you fire a nail the drive belt pinches the driver blade which fires the nail. Here is the product documentation from DeWalt's website. http://www.dewaltservicenet.com/Products/DocumentView.aspx?productid=68728&typeId=16768&documentId=35981
The Drive belt is part #59. I have never opened one of these before so I can not tell you if it is a simple fix, I would open it up and peek around just a few screws on the top should open it. If you do not feel comfortable opening that unit yourself, I would take it to an Authorized DeWalt repair facility.

My DC618 nailer won't fire .

Check the battey then take it out and check the driving rod. On the front of the gun, flip the latch and make sure it is pushed all the way back.
make sure you have nail, of course. put the battery back in. If al that does not work, have it services at a dewalt service center.

problem solved.whoever had used the tool must have hit something hard because the drive pin had been pushed back just enough to stop it from cycling.

Dewalt dc618 nailer is not firing

I have both the DC616 and 618 and have used them sucessfully for about three years. Two main things go wrong. There is a drive belt that breaks (drives the spool that give the energy to drive in the nails), second are two small rubber bands on either side of the drive head that break. The bands can be accessed by taking off the front silver cover, the drive belt is access by spliting the case. Make sure you are using the correct nails or the drive pin may become bent and will jamb repeatedly. Hope that helps!
