How can my A330 Fuji be made compatible with a firmware upgrade, which can be downloaded from fujifilm/media/xdtypem? tried this site and can't get anywhere!

If your new card has the letter "H" or "M" on it, your A330 isn't compatible with it unless a "firmware" upgrade is performed on the camera. Your A330 is not compatible with the XD cards that start with an "H" or a "M" before the XD designation, unless you perform a firmware upgrade. You can do it yourself using this link from Fuji Canada. http://www.fujifilm.ca/x13573.xml
u need to upgrade your firmware for A330 as it is not compatible with cards over 512mb. go to fujifilm- accesseries-storage media-xd picture in left hand corner-xd type M. click on link under notice on compatibility. you will find your firmware upgrade here just follow instructions. worked for me
Are you trying to use a new xD memory card?
The A330 will only accept xD cards with no small letters before the disk size.
I have a card "H512MB" and can't use that one.
There is a firmware upgrade to allow you to use a "M512MB" card.

According Too Sources. The FinePix A330 is not compatible with H Type memory Cards. That could possibly be the reason it keeps bringing up the write error. Try using a Type M card.
In order to use Type "M" xD cards, you need to upgrade the camera's firmware.

Same thing happened to me. I ran across a website that allowed me to download a free recovery program that looks at memory cards. Thankfully this free program allowed me to recover all 232 pictures I had saved from a trip to Spain.
