I have a Timex Ironman watch 30 Lap Flix. The "set/recall" button, "indiglo" button, and "stop/reset" buttons will not move. I was having problems with the "stop/reset" button and thought the battery was low. The battery was replaced. Now, the button doesn't work at all. I am unable to set the time on my watch. I am unable to get the stopwatch to stop timing or reset for my next run.

For some reason, the sound for the alarm and hourly chime is muted. Is there something I can do or is watch defective?

I have a Timex Men's Classic Digital Silver-Tone Expansion Band Watch #T78587. To turn the chime on and off on this watch, I press the Start/Stop button on the top right once. This toggles the chime on and off. If you hear a single beep then you have turned it on. If you hear no beep you have turned it off. You can tell the chime setting by looking at the colon seperator between the hours and minutes. If it is flashing then the chime is on and if it is not flashing then the chime is off. This is not explained in my watch manual nor in any of the manuals I downloaded from Timex.com.

It could have 2 batteries! 1.5 volt for analog and lithium for digital! Take it to a reputable watch repair business and let them check! :-)

I had this problem. I simply flipped the metal plate on the back 180 degrees.

I noticed on the inside of the metal plate a pad about the size of the battery, and guessed from the other notes that this must perform some kind of insulating function. Furthermore, the writing on the outside of the metal plate was not oriented "up"... that is if I was holding the watch in front of me like I was reading it, the writing on the back plate was upside down. Both of these clues led me to believe that the plate had been re-installed wrong. Flipping it around fixed (restored) the beep.
