I installed a jacuzzi perfecta toilet. my question is about the tank. i finger tightened the wing nuts til they were snug. it does not leak, however, where the bowl and the tank come together, the gasket attached to the tank is acting like a spacer. this means the tank wobbles a little if someone bumps it. do i need to "crank" on the wing nuts til the ceramic of the bowl and tank meet?

No --it means use the pre-drilled holes at the base of the pan/bowl to secure the pan/bowl to the floor

SOURCE: tank has slight wobble after installation

you need to tighten the nuts under the tank. the tank is not even.
The best method is hand tight the nuts to approximately same pressure on all 3 nuts. then use socket ratchet, one turn each, one at a time, till the tank stop rocking. stop right there. flush the toilet, check for leak. tighten as needed.
make sure all 3 nuts have even pressure.

SOURCE: How tight is the tank/bowl supposed to be a

They only need to be tight enough to sufficiently seal the donut between the tank and the bowl. Some movement is acceptable. It is better to be a little loose than to overtighten them and risk cracking the tank.

SOURCE: how to assemble tank to bowl

  1. Place the Rubber Donut on th bottom side of the tank (this will form a seal from the tank to the bowl)
  2. There are two small holes to either side this is for your two tank bolts. Place a washer on both bolts and place them in the two holes with the head of bolt and washer inside the tank. Place tank on bowl, matching up the holes.
  3. there are two plastic nuts that are beveled on one end, with bevel up toward bolt head thread onto bolt finger tight. Repeat for remaining bolt.
  4. Apply a little pressure to one side of tank and tighten nut finger tight again then repeat for other side. May need to do this a couple of times back and forth. IMPORTANT tight the nuts equally and carefull not to overtighten or you will crack the tank ONLY FINGER TIGHT.

SOURCE: We bought the Jacuzzi Perfecta toilet 1 year ago

The complication here is that Jacuzzi does not make toilets anymore than Sears makes refrigerators. In Sear's case their Kenmore refrigerators are from Whirlpool with the Kenmore name.

It is my understanding that Eljer was the manufacturer of the toilets with the Jacuzzi name typically sold at box stores. With that as a starting point, surf the web for any Eljer toilet tank replacement parts and see if you can find a similiar flusher

Why would the jacuzzi perfecta toilet handle comes off and now won't fill, just keeps running

Handle retaining nut either came loose or broke off. Check the flapper valve, if its not completely closed water will keep running out, and fill valve will stay open trying to fill the tank.

Tank to bowl leaks

Turn water supply line of to toilet. Flush and hold handle down to drain water from tank. Take lid of tank off and use a towel to soak up the rest of the water inside tank. Remove nuts on bottom of Tank bolts. Lift off and lay down on its side. Remove the rubber or sponge type gasket that is on bottom of the tank that covers the nut from standpipe assembly. Buy new gasket and install back on bottom of tank over Nut for standpipe. Put tank back on toilet bowl. Install bolts and tighten. reconnect water line and turn on.

When you sit on the ring it veers off to the left and you are left sitting there crooked. How do we adjust it?

See if nuts on studs on bottom where it mounts to the floor & flange are loose. If they are loose tighten both of them evenly. If they are tight you will need to replace wax ring that is between toilet & floor.Turn off shutoff water valve to toilet. Flush once holding down handle to let tank drain. Remove both nuts & lift toilet off flange. Remove wax ring. Scrape all old wax off toilet & floor flange. Install new wax ring. Set down toilet on ring & snug nuts evenly. Sit on seat & apply your weight evenly to distribute wax & level. Retighten nuts. Turn water back on. Allow tank to refill. Flush toilet & check for leaks.

Have to replace two new toilets seats, the seats move

Martin, Jacuzzi has a one year warranty on toilet seats so if you have defective seats and they were purchased less than a year it is covered you will have to find a dealer near you, I provided a link for you to accomplish this. How is the seat attached? There should be two plastic screws with a nut on the underside which can be tightened these tend to loosen and nee re-tightening every so often. I hope this has helped. Thanks for using FIXYA, good luck and have a great day. Jeff

Installing new jacuzzi 1.6 gallon maxima toilet. despite following the instructions, the water is leaking from between where the tank connects to the bowl. Please help.

Yes, it seems the folks who wrote the instructions have never actually done any plumbing.

first place a rubber washer on the bolt, then put it through the hole in the tank. Then place another rubber washer on the bolt, followed by a metal washer and a nut. Tighten the nut, not the bolt.
Using a screwdriver hold the bolt in place, and tighten the nut until snug and the rubber washers are compressed slightly.

Follow this step with all the "tank to bowl" bolts.

Now the bolts are tight to the tank and will not leak water.

Then place the large rubber gasket over the flush valve hole on the bottom of the tank. and set the tank on the bowl with the bolts through the bowls holes.

Place a metal washer on the bolt, and then a nut.

Tighten each nut equally until the tank has no wobble.

I need torque specs.for head and centerhead when replacing new gaskets.

never have used a torque wrench to install toilet tanks. Put gasket on tank and insert bolts with rubbers washers through gasket and set tank on bowl in a level and straight postion and start nuts tightening them evenly until tank starts to snug to bowl. Hand tight is usually sufficient, you will see the rubber gasket and washers will compress to bowl and tank forming a seal (EVENLY) and tank will be firm to bowl. DO NOT superman torque these nuts! Compare the torque to finger strength on a wing nut. Hope this helps ,"if I understood the question."
