I have an HP 2840 color laser jet that keeps presenting a Scanner Error Code 6. Might anyone know if and how I can repair this on my own? Thanks a ton! Mike

The book says to try the old power off and on. And then replace the scanner assembly and then the formatter.

Personally, I would try the formatter.

The solutions for this are posted elsewhere on this site, look for "Scanner Error 5". Basically, it's one of several things that can be cleaned or adjusted without having to replace the entire scanner head. If it does need parts they should return the printer to you until the parts are available. This error does not prevent you from printing. Even though the printer shows the error message and tells you to cycle the power, you don't need to. It will still print with this error. Find a repair shop with someone who knows what they are doing, or get a #10 Torx screw driver and fix it yourself.

Read the other thread. Could be dirty mirrors, dirty or crooked film sensor strip, or bad light bulb, all of which can be easily repaired.

its the problem of the spinning wheel which pulls the paper that is called engine and that is either getting blocked by any dust particles or got broken internally and has to be cleaned or replaced to make it proper.

After the hp color laserjet has finnished initiallizing it gives me error code 6

printer is ok, check the connecting cable and drivers.
