I cant erase anything off my Olymous VN 240 recorder!

I tried pressing stop and erase and then pressing play after i select yes. its still not working! :-(

    I simply cannot erase anything I have recorded - using the erase button and selecting yes someone please help I am going mad here!!!!

    I have the same problem. clear comes up then i press yes and it still does not work????????

I have the same unit that is not working at this time, but if I remember correctly try this: Once the "yes" comes up to erase, hit the erase button again. If that doesn't work, press in the center of the large round button. Hope this works for you, if not download instructions from website.

Unable to delete files from the recorder

Resetting the Recorder (CLEAR)
This function resets the current time and other settings to their initial
status. It is useful if you are having problems with the recorder, or if you
want to erase the entire memory of the recorder.
1 Hold the STOP button, and hold the ERASE button for 3
seconds or longer.
2 Press the FF or REW button to select the “YES”.
3 Press the PLAY button.

Olympus vn-240, I try to record and screen says full. It says memory is completely available, no recordings?

Have you tried to reset the device. By resetting it it should clear all of the data and then it should be ready for use again. To reset it you hold down the stop and erase buttons at the same time - CLR appears on the screen - select to Yes and then press Enter. The device should then be reset and all data removed. You should be able to start recording again.

Erasing all files

the only way to clear the recorder is to press stop and erase at the same time for a second or longer, then highlight yes... this will clear of everything and will need to set the date and time

How are files erased from the VN-3100PC?
Individual selected files or the entire contents of a selected folder can be erased from the VN-3100PC.
To erase a selected file:
  1. Press the [REW]or [FF] button to select the file.
  2. Press the [ERASE] button.
  3. Press the [REW] or [FF] button to select YES.
  4. Press the [PLAY] button.
To erase the contents of a folder:
  1. Press the [REW] or [FF] button to select the folder.
  2. Press the [ERASE] button twice.
  3. Press the [REW] or [FF] button to select YES.
  4. Press the [PLAY] button.
Erased files cannot be retrieved.

I got a error on my olympus VN-3100PC

yes the above solution ie by pressing "STOP" button and "DISP/MENU" button at a time is solved my problem showing "ERR" in VN 2100PC olympus voice recorder

Help dont want to lose everything

The reason it is asking you if you want to delete all is because you have not selected specific files to erase, so when you hit erase without selecting a file it assumes you mean delete all.

To erase try these steps...

To erase a selected file from Folder A, B, or C:
  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder A, B, or C.
  2. Press the - or + button to select the file to be erased.
  3. Press the ERASE button.
  4. Press the - or + button to select YES.
  5. Press the ENTER/INDEX button.
To erase the contents of Folder A, B, or C:
  1. Press the MENU/FOLDER button to select Folder A, B, or C.
  2. Press the ERASE button twice.
  3. Press the - or + button to select YES.
  4. Press the ENTER/INDEX button.
To erase a selected file from a date subfolder in Folder S:
