Eeprom has been erased, usually a power surge causes this.

Suggest you start the setup process over and that you first uninstall your current printer driver; download a new driver for your printer and operating system and then instal your printer.
Follow the Quick Start Guide for set-up. Instead of installing the driver from the installation CD; install the driver you have downloaded.
Make sure you have the driver for your operating sytem; Open Control Panel > click on System > look under System type.
Copies are coming out really poor with stains on them. Think its the transfer roller that requires replacement. Is this something I can do myself or do I need a technician?

Well. i removed the black main toner, shaked it, rolled the gear of the colours that had fingerprints, turned off the unit and start working again. well, i solved it that way, now i can fax again because i couldn' t even access any buttons, got stucked, hope it helps.
