One day my son did something with the remote and it turned off the tv and the tv would not come back on!

any clues on what this could be? it is a true flat but its a 20 inch.

the tv is only 2years old

I agree it could be the childlock function or the sleep timer is locked up or something. Just in case here is a website for the manual.

Removal of tv stand
The stand is usually held in by 4 Philips scres on the rear of the TV.

The stand itself has 2 "Arms" that point upwards, about 4 inches, they go up into the base of the TV, screws then go in from the rear of the set, low down, to secure the legs in place.

The stand, swivel mechanism and "arms" all stay together.

My TV is staying on Stand by when I try to turn it on
There is a logic board in this unit that is malfunction. Standby does not mean everything is okay and there is no tricks to get it out of standby wihtout bringing it in to have it repaired.

Cannot get tv out of stand by mode..
upon hitting the power button, the red light showing on the front of the tv should flash a couple of times, the screen should come on and the light goes off..the red "stand by " light stays on and we cannot get the screen to come up..needless to say, cannot get to the menu to change any display options...any suggestions?

Removing the stand
Check to see if you got all the screws, usually there are 4-6 screws holding the stand in the TV. The are usually all on the center bottom on the back. When the TV is on the floor, try lifting with two people, one on each side directly up evenly. The stand should stay on the floor as the TV is removed.
