Hey Sanjay,

In order to fix your drive, first we need to know File System you use on this drive and number of files you have in the root folder of your flash drive. Also, version of operating system will help a lot.

First of all, you need to format your Flash Drive using FAT32 file system after backing up your data.

Also, if you are trying to copy large number of files then it could be the cause. Since , there are particular number of files that can be placed in any root  directory.
To take care of this, whenever you are not able to transfer a file after transferring few, simply delete the last 2 files, create a new folder and transfer the remaining files insid this New Folder.

Note: In order to format a Flash Drive use HP Disc Utility. It works on nearly all Flash Drives. Just remember to select FAT32 as a File System.

Here's the link to download HP Disc Utility - -

Write protected

do you use windows vista or windows 7 OS?
They have a feature to use an external pen drive as a virtual system memory.
Try backing up all your data to your hard drive then full formatting it choosing NTFS system.
If you use OS which are older than Win XP, you need to format it in FAT32 system instead.

Hope this helps.

Remove Write Protection

Try this,
1.
Check out if the USB drive has a small swich for write protection. If its there try toggling the switch.

2.
Windows can all write protect flash drives. Check out this registry path,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies.

You may find a key here on the right side by the name 'WriteProtect'. If it's not there this would not be the cause of problem. If it's there, make sure that the value is 0.

Please let me know if this does'nt work.
