I get a message saying BAD RTC CHIP on my verifone VX510 how do I reset it

The terminal has a depleted internal battery that must be replaced.
its is fixable.

I am not familiar with that CC reader, but RTC mean "Real Time Clock" have you tried just to set the date/time?

you vx510 is equipped with multiple sensors internally, If for some reason 1 of those sensors were disturbed, Bad RTC or tamper error will come up or maybe your battery is going bad. call (775)358-2922 look for randy and maybe we can help.
