Generator runs for about 10 minutes and then stops like it is running out of fuel. 5500 NorthStar with Honda motor. Waned fuel tank and lines, had carb. Rebuilt and cleaned all out with carburetor cleaner. New fuel and changed filter. Has plenty of oil and runs fine when it does run.

It appears you have eliminated all of the fuel related issues. That would leave the generatoor safety circuits as a possible reason for the unit shutting down.

The Low Oil Level Sensor is the major reason that generators shut down when your sure there is not a fuel supply problem. Make sure the unit is fully servied with OIL. If the problem persists disconnect ONE wire from the low oil level sensor and see if the problem persists. If you still have the problem inspect the black or green wire from the Start run switch all the way to the Air shroud on the engine looking for signs of chaffing.
If you can not find anything then you will have to re-focus your attention on the fuel system once again. If you have a solenoid on the base of the carb.. the solenoid can be WEAK and stop remaining open once hot. This will cause the engine to lean out and die.
You should also check fuel flow to the carb. The flow should fill a spary paint can lid in under 10 seconds to the point your worried about it overflowing. Most honda engines have a metal sediment bowl under the fuel selector. Remove the sediment bowl and dump the contents. Check fuel flow again.
- Carb. With the float bowl removed fuel selector ON check fuel flow again by holding a spray paint can lid under the float. It must fill up in about 10 seconds to the point your worried about over-filling the lid. If you do not have a good flow rate here the float needle float needle rubber seat and the fuel manifold are the prime suspects.

I know this generator has the Honda GX270 engine. Some have solenoids (Item 49 this link)

^- No details!

Honda engines by model and VIN can be found here:

At this time I think the low oil level sensor (sending uint) may be the culprit causing your problem.

How to remove tank on a honda eg5000cl generator

This is reasonably easy to do. Does the Generator run? Start the generator as it's running turn the fuel Petcock to the Off position. The generator should stall and stop running. This helps safely empty the fuel line and carburettor between the tank and the engine.
Disconnect the fuel line from the petcock tap and plug the ends to stop dirt getting in. On each corner of the tank itself there should be a bolt going through the ribbed edge and a rubber spacer. remove these 4 bolts and the tank should lift up and out. On some generators you might have to remove some trim panels to make it easier.
Refitting is the exact opposite of this.

Briggs 10 hp on Coleman 5000 generator, runs great for 6 minutes, acts like run out of fuel, stops.

This sounds likely a badly routed fuel line that is getting hot and causing airlocks. The fuel delivery is slow, the gas heats up and vaporizes causing an air lock. You can test by removing the fuel line and with no engine running, run the contents of the fuel tank into a container. Do you have good fuel flow?

Or the float bowl isn't venting via its overflow pipe.

Hello, ushicks/me hillybilly. One question how old is the fuel in then generator tank,Hey. If it has a fuel filter replace it. Modern gasoline is junk fuel and after a few months it looses some chemical proprieties. GB...stewbison

shut fuel off at tank, pull fuel line off carb ,slowly turn on fuel if fuel flows freely(real good stream)your carb needs replacement(cant buy parts to rebuild EPA) if fuel just barely trickles out . there is a screen in the fuel tank that is probably clogged
