No sound. Screen face lights don't light up. All tubes glow when powered on. The speaker pops when coming out of standy-by into full on state. But absolutely no guitar sound, no auxiliary input sound, and no lights on face. Also seems to not be sending any power to Sanpera II footswitch.

If it is within warranty take it back to the shop. If not then its going to need an engineer to look at it. Its not worth fooling around inside a tube amp as the capacitors can retain lethal voltages even when unplugged.

I Just bought a brand new Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12. I get no sound when i turn it on. I can hear the hum of the speaker, everything lite up, including the two 6L6 tubes. When i plug into the jack, i...

If it is new then something is a bit strange to say the least. Turn all the knobs to midpoint. If it is going to click/pop then you will definitely hear it. Switch to standby, then power to on for a minute then standby to on. You should then see the 6l6 and the 3x 12AX7's all glowing. Plug into each channel. Don;t use a pedal to try any of this. If you get a pop on on ch then it can be one side of the preamp either a tube or one of the op amps on the board.

Make sure you try out the cable/guitar on a different amp to make sure it is working. Could be a cable or plug that is the problem.

Honestly if this is new I'd haul it back to the store and return it. It should just work with no hassles. Once you know your guitar/cable is not the cause then I would take it back and get them to either set it up or replace it. Something is just not right here for a brand new amp.

I'VE A YAMAHA PSR S700. The problem is with it's screen. Whenever i start playing, the screen fades and then it comes and it goes and vice versa. This occurs almost two - three days a week. There...

Likely a connection to the backlight is being broken. Tap on the unoit and see if it pops back on. Illuminate screen with a flashlight and see if the characters can be seen when screen is faded. If they can, then the backlight is the problem... IF NOT then the display may be bad... This has been a problem and if you are under warranty, excersise it immediately... else replacement of the display is relatively expensive.

The first thing i would do is not leave it on in this way for too long. You could blow out a very expensive Transformer if its a faulty speaker. The worst thing you could do to a TUBE amp is run it without a speaker . I would test the speaker first. Just remove the wires going to it. And connect the speaker to either a car stereo or house system at low volume very low. And see what you get. if it works ? Good! Now check your guitar chord/wire. Try different ones try different guitars. If that doesn't work . Look into the input jack on the instrument input hack on the amp.. They do come loose off the board.Either get a new input jack or resolder the old one. if you only have one guitar look at the guitar output jack. Loose wiring on the guitar could cause this also. Dirty In and out put jacks could cause this. A pencil with Very fine sand paper wrapped around it will clean a dirty input/output jack. Try these things. Just remember poking around your amp is Dangerous. The electrical components hold a charge even unplugged that can kill you. No joke..

I have a buzzing noise coming from my Marshall AVT100. It is present on all the channels. Is it likely to be caused by the valve? The valve inside is made by Electro Harmonix and it was made in Russia....

okay so buzzing noise. i have seen this once before. the extension cord feeding a power strip with two amps plugged in and powered on off of a low amp electrical outlet with fluorescent lights overhead.......try running only one power unit off of the electrical outlet you are using, just one straight into the wall with the lights out. if you still hear it i wonder if the output transformer is starting to go south. if you listen close sometimes you can hear the buzz of a transformer powered on, example: you can hear the buzz of a power transformer on a power pole in peak hours. tubes usually make hisssing, crackling type noises. next would be to tap on the tubes while in play with an orange stick or pencil eraser to listen for microphics or the tapping itself thru the speakers. if you hear with out a doubt change them.

Amp doesn't do anything.

If you hear a pop when you turn it on and the squeak when turning off most of your amp is probably working.Depending on whether it is a tube or solid state amp there are several things to consider some being as simple as a deadLED or bulb in the pilot light and a defective input jack to as complicated as a dead power supply to the preamp circuitry. If you are not familiar with safety procedures and electronic trouble shooting and have no test equipment and the schematic you might be better off having it serviced. Here is a link to a troubleshooting guide:http://www.geofex.com/ampdbug/ampdebug.htm A lot of the info can be applied to solid state amps. Hope this helps.

No sound coming out of speakers when turned on

If you get absolutely no sound, not even a pop when changing the standby switch, this probably means the rectifier OR the switch has failed. The red light just means power is getting to the power transformer... probably fuse is OK.

JCM2000 DSL100 No Sound

Not likely to be a fuse. The bane of electrical amps are the connectors.

Often the speaker and more commonly the input 1/4 inch connectors go bad. Sometimes caused by side loads when cables are yanked or tripped over.

Be careful of running amps IF the speakers are not connected OR have bad connectors or cables. You can arc over the tubes or pop transistors.

Get a cheap Volt-ohmeter from HarborFreight or Radio Shack and test your cables and connectors.

For a tube amp, your should find relatively low resistance at the speaker connector (certainly under 20 ohms). Do this with power off.

NO sound through the AMP even though the power light comes on

Not a fuse. First thing, to check your speaker (amp unplugged, of course), touch the + and - speaker connections to a 9V battery. If you don't hear a pop sound then your speaker is blown. Thus, no output sound. If speaker is OK, then the output IC is your problem.
