Key working alpha

The alpha key activates the alphabet keyboard and a few extra symbols. To access the MATH menu and the ToFrac command, press the key below the ALPHA key. The key is marked with MATH.
On the TI84PLUS with the newer operating systems (version2.5x), the APLHA key opens up a few functionalities. That is not available on the TI 83Plus.

Many keys in this calculator serves one than one function which can be access through by pressing either "2nd"(Blue Key) or "ALPHA"(GREEN KEY). Such extra functions are noted on keys in Green or Blue color. These additional functions are accessed by first pressing corresponding color key and desired function Key.

For example:
pressing UP and DOWN keys navigates the screen up and down
if we press ALPHA key and then UP/DOWN key, it will scroll screen UP/DOWN by a page. Also you can use this combination for copy functions.
if we press 2nd Key instead of ALPHA, we can change Contrast of The screen

Casio fx-300es. How do you enter a variable? what button do you press to represent x in x+7=14 or any other problem with a variable. Everyone has a ti 84 and they have a button for x.

You have a way to enter the Variables A, B,C,D, Y and X.
Use the ALPHA key
For A use ALPHA change sign key (-), below the Fraction Template.
For B use ALPHA (degree ' ")
For C use ALPHA (HYP)
For D use ALPHA (SIN)
For X use ALPHA right )
For Y use , ALPHA (S-D) key
For =, use ALPHA and the key below the SHIFT key. May be marked CALC. The = is in the same color as the ALPHA on calculator. It should be to the upper right side of a key.

(I have an FX-991ES that is compatible with the FX-300ES, but since I do not have a picture of the FX-300ES calculator I cannot be more specific than I have been, lest I mislead you.)

Storing
  1. To store numerical values in the variables A,B,C,D,X,Y and M you use the [SHIFT][RCL] key combination to access the (STOre) function.
  2. In what follows [ key] is the physical key and (key) is the SHIFTED key
  3. ex: store the value 13 in variable A
  4. 13 [SHIFT][RCL] (STORE) [(-)] (A)
  5. The calculator displays 13 --> A on top line and 13.000.. on bottom line.
Recalling
  • To recall a value stored in a variable ex: recall value stored in variable A
  • Press [RCL][(-)] (A)
  • Calculator displays A on top line and 13 on bottom line.
If you need to use the variables A,B,C,D,X,Y, and the = sign to create an expression to be solved with the solve( function you must press the [ALPHA] key

=: [ALPHA] [CALC](=)
A: [ALPHA][(-)] (A)
B: [ALPHA][ 0 ' "] (B)
X: [ALPHA][ ) ] (X)
Y:[ALPHA][S<=>D] (Y)
etc.

How do I insert the = sign into an equation

I checked your problems.

  1. There are three questions asked by you. The first one concerns how to insert the = sign to create an algebraic equation. It was answered correctly by someone.
  2. The second one also concerning the = is still awaiting a solution. But it was filed under Copiers.
  3. The third question (this very one) is no question at all since you claim the site is sending you in circles.

Here is the solution to your two questions.
To insert an equal sign in an equation on the Casio FX-115ES one uses the key combination [ALPHA][CALC] (=).

To insert other variables (A,B,C,D,X,Y) you do as follows

[ALPHA][(-)] (A).
[ALPHA][' " "] (B).
[ALPHA][hyp] (C).
[ALPHA][sin] (D).
[ALPHA][ ) ] (X).
[ALPHA][S<=>D] (Y).

The only other uses of the [ALPHA] key are
[ALPHA][Integral] (:)
[ALPHA][M+] (M) to access constant memory register
[ALPHA][x10^x] (e) to access value of the base of the natural logarithm.
