Your tip over switch needs reset... or you can bypass same...
I am having a similar problem with my mr heater propane and I was wondering if you ever figured out what the issue was? I have no other way to heat my house with five children
When the pilot lights continue holding the button down for a full minute and then release. It should stay lit then to allow you to turn it to the on position. If the pilot will not stay lit after holding it for the full minute, then the thermocouple will need to be replaced.
Hope this helps.
A
pilot light will be found on natural gas stoves, fireplaces, clothes
dryers, water heaters and furnaces. When the gas is turned off, the
pilot light will go out on all of these appliances. After the gas is
turned back on, you must relight the pilot light before you can use the
appliance. Pilot lights are similar so if you can relight the pilot
light for a gas heater you can relight the pilot light for a gas stove
or any other gas appliance.
