When the pilot lights continue holding the button down for a full minute and then release. It should stay lit then to allow you to turn it to the on position. If the pilot will not stay lit after holding it for the full minute, then the thermocouple will need to be replaced.
Hope this helps.

CGA Mclain .Natural Gas boiler issue 70k btu with a effikal ventx damper, model RVGP. There is no blower for ventilation, no control board with lights. Pilot light will not stay lit. have already replaced...

hey Carli suspect you mean the pilot goes out as soon as u turn your gas control valve back to the on position!? If this is so, you will have to probable reset the flue spill switch located right at the exaust outlet. OR, SOMETIMES THEY HAVE ANOTHER LIMIT switch in the same circuit in series. If the pilot goes out when u release the pilot press down knob, then it is your thermo couple is loose or fininshed,or the pilot flame is not aimed properly at the sensor (thermo couple)

How do you light the pilot light on the stove? Model 3627391592

Hello,

A pilot light will be found on natural gas stoves, fireplaces, clothes dryers, water heaters and furnaces. When the gas is turned off, the pilot light will go out on all of these appliances. After the gas is turned back on, you must relight the pilot light before you can use the appliance. Pilot lights are similar so if you can relight the pilot light for a gas heater you can relight the pilot light for a gas stove or any other gas appliance.

jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • matches OR flashlight
  1. Locate the gas valve by following the gas line in the appliance. The gas valve will have a large red button or knob and will be easy to see and will be well marked.
  2. Check for a gas leak by smelling the area close to the gas valve. Listen carefully for escaping gas and do not attempt to light a pilot light if there is a gas leak.
  3. Hold down or press the red button or knob on the gas valve while holding a lit match in front of the opening in the gas pilot line. Continue to hold down or press the red button or knob for several seconds after the gas ignites to allow the thermocouple (the sensor for the appliance's thermostat) to heat up.
  4. Repeat step 3 if the pilot light goes out after you release the button or knob. In most cases, the pilot light goes out because the thermocouple did not have enough time to heat up, so give it a few more seconds.
  5. Make final adjustment of the gas flow to the pilot light by turning the red knob. In some cases, no adjustment other than "on" or "off" will be needed.
  6. Turn on our appliance to make sure the pilot light ignites the main gas flow. Replace any covers or close any access doors to the gas valve.
Hope this help?

I have a Rheem gas furnace, model # RGAA-100C and need help lighting the pilot. The instructions on the metal plate tell me to set the valve to off, then to pilot, push the valve down until lit, and then...

Hi, follow what I say and it is very easy. The knob that says off, on, and pilot, is where you need to start. You don't want to turn it off now, as its been off for awhile now. Turn the knob slowly pushing down on it until you fill it go down. The knob will go down believe me. When this happens, keep holding it down as this is what starts the gas to the pilot which is back under the burner, under it. Just take a flash light and you can follow the aluminum tubing back and where it stops is where you light it with something long with a match in it or a small rolled up paper. Keep the knob down the whole time you are lighting it. When it lights, keep the knob pushed down for about another minute. Then slowly release the knob and the pilot should stay on. Once you have it on, turn the knob to on, not off. If you turn it the wrong way, it will go off and you will need to start over again. Once it stays on by itself, turn your thermostat up for heat and the burner will light and come on. Just remember that the pilot where you light it is where the tubing goes back under it, as the pilot gas goes through it. You will need a light. Look at the knob with a good light and it will tell you which way to turn it. In the pilot position, the knob will press down to let the pilot gas in, and you can reach back and light it. Then turn knob on. Pilot should stay light. Turn on thermostat and it will fire up. Let me know how it goes. You may have to try a couple of times.

We have a gas wall heater product number 4690011 and we do not know how to start it;

Remember if you smell gas, turn unit manual gas valve off and open a near by window, wait until smell is gone then proceed with these directions,turn manual gas valve back on, turn thermostat down.1.) turn combination gas valve knob to the pilot position and press down knob, if unit has a striker button, push striker while holding down knob until pilot lights, keep knob held down in the pilot position for 20 seconds then let up on knob and turn to the on position, turn thermostat up, main burners should light.

Pilot wont light

If the pilot light goes out when you release the primer,then the thermocouple is bad.You can try to adjust the thermocouple,if it can be.It needs to be in the pilot flame.If the thermocouple is not in the flame,it will not stay lit.If you can not get the pilot to light at all,with the primer pushed down,then replace the regulator.To light the pilot light,you need to turn the dial to pilot.Then press the primer button down and hold it.The primer is either built into the turn knob,or it is a res button.Hold the primer down,and light the pilot,continue holding the primer down for at least 40 seconds.Then release the primer slowly,and if the pilot light starts to get weak,and try to go out,then push back down,and hold 30 seconds more.After the pilot stays lit,turn the knob to furnace or low,or whatever the directions say.

How do I light the pilot on my InterTherm MGBB 070 furnace? I have tried holding in the pilot switch but have had no success in getting the pilot lit.

Just to make sure you are trying to light the pilot, from the gas valve follow the small diameter pipe (1/8") to the pilot assembly. Where you should be placing your flame is above that point. Now with the gas valve knob turned to the Pilot marking, depress the know into the gas valve. Light the pilot. Check to see if it is lit and remain holding the knob in for 30 to 45 seconds. If the flame goes out as soon as you let out the knob, you will need to replace the thermocouple.

Light pilot light

Turn control knob to "Pilot" and press it down. While holding knob down, light pilot with a match. After pilot lights continue to hold knob down for about one minute. When you release the knob the pilot should remain on. If it goes out then the thermocouple needs to be replaced.

Cozy wall heater

On top of the gas valve you will see a knob. Turn the knob to the position that says pilot. It's on the side of valve. Press the knob down with one hand and take your long lighter stick it by the pilot tube looks like a small aluminum tube should light pretty quickly hold for 30 seconds release the button you have been holding down. Now turn the knob to the on position. Make sure the thermostat is turned off so the flame don't fire up as soon as you turn knob. If you are uncomfortable gas your gas company and they should come out for free.

Windchaser patio heater

You have to hold the button down for 30 seconds at least before turning the knob to ON. If you are doing this and it still goes out after you let up on the knob, then it needs a new flame sensor, or thermocouple. Same thing different names.
